May her gentle soul rest in peace. Behind every great and successful hero, there is always a strong, loving and a loyal woman. Mama Awo loved, honored, served, and supported the greatest Yoruba hero in our history. PA Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo transformed the entire Western region and made the region a role model to the rest of African nations. He brought the first Television station in Africa to Ibadan far before the independent; his free education program transformed Yoruba race and benefited all Nigerians who live in his region, his free and avoidable health care program saved many lives, the Liberty stadium was first of its kind in Nigeria. What about the “Cocoa House” in Ibadan? PA Awolowo achievements are numerous and all of it can not be listed on this platform. The caliber of people in attendance at the burial event today shows that service to humanity outweigh personal gains in government or politics. May the soul of Mama HID rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
