Here is what her father told The Nation yesterday:

“When she comes back I will first task her to church then she will continue with her secondary school education. I will also take her to a hospital where she will be checked properly.

“Ese is my youngest daughter. I like her so much because she is a very brave girl and very hardworking. She is young but still has a heart of her own; that has been her system of living.

“Nobody deprives her of anything; of her freedom and nobody has offended her so running away from home is not ordinary.

“I know my children they don’t go out without our knowledge or obtaining permission from us. Moreover she didn’t go with any of her properties; all her clothes are still intact.”

Charles and his wife are both in Abuja waiting to be reunited with their daughter.

How can a family of 6 be living in a self contained apartment.
It is poverty that facilitated her abduction

Princcet you talk as if things are so bad for them. In Nigeria, no family is poor because government is not assisting citizens. We fend for ourselves, so they are average family and no full blown poverty seen here. That girl was definitely bewitched. Does marriage commence without the consent of the brides parents? As a mother, I feel the pain of the parents. #childnotbride#

And that is why Ese should study hard to overcome this poverty instead of running into a more impoverished marriage. I came from a family that is even more impoverished than this family, but I still made it to the university level and today I am the eye of my family.

@princcet, the issue here is not a matter of poverty. Can you indulge yourself in stealing or killing and eating of human flesh just because the price of cow meat is in exorbitant rate in the market. Mr Charles Oruru did not mention poverty owing to the disappearance of his daughter. Nigerians are worried about the kidnapped and abducted of CHIBOK and the school girls issue happened just yesterday in Lagos which is a serious problem that needs urgent redress. We’re talking of serious crimes, poverty should not make you to commit atrocities. Ese and her parent should be compensate from FG and Kano state government for violations of Human Rights which entails the kidnapped, abduction and forceful of marriage without the consent of the child and her parents

PMB, am appealing you to use your good office to do a good Justice to upturn the Standard of Mr Charles Oruru’s family. The should be a season of fortune not misfortune as the issue is a National issue
