June 11, 2014 – Fashola Declares Thursday June 12, A Public Holiday / Work Free Day In Lagos To Honour Late MKO Abiola

Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola has declared tomorrow June 12th, 2014 as a public holiday in Lagos state Nigeria to honour the late Nigerian politician, Chief Moshood Abiola.

This is to commemorate the June 12, 1993 annulled presidential election won by the late Moshood Abiola.

The approval was made known in a circular distributed today in Lagos.

The circular reads, “in commemoration of June 12, 1993 as significant in the actualization of Democracy in Nigeria, it is hereby notified for general information that His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, the Governor of Lagos State, has approved Thursday, 12th June, 2014 as a work free day.”

    Nigerian government are very liberal with holiday.
    I don’t think dis one is really necessary
    what impact did MKO made when he was alive?

If we even wan celebrate person no b person wey don pocket our moni. we 4 dey celebrate our past hero but we no get any hero 4naija, all our past leader contribute 2make naija worst, We don’t like ourselves in naija, d people wey don comment support dis mumu holiday cos dem b yoruba , we no unite 4dis country cos our past leader no work on uniting our country.     i dont knw y some peeps don’t think before they talk, who says June 12 is celebrating M.K.O Abiola? dint u read the circular, it says its celebrating the actualization of democracy in Nigeria.
