Lassa Fever Virus Has Killed 40 Nigerians, 86 Placed In Isolation – Health Minister

January 9, 2016 – Lassa Fever Virus Outbreak Death Toll In Nigeria At 40, 86 Quarantined – Health Minister

As at the time of this report, 40 citizens have died as Lassa fever virus spreads across 10 Nigerian states.

According to Health Minister Prof Isaac Adewole, the total number of cases reported is 86 and 40 deaths.

22 out of the 86 suspected cases have been confirmed as Lassa fever.

The mortality rate is currently at 43.2%.

The Health Minister reminded Nigerians to avoid contact with rodents especially rat with 8 breasts.

    Lassa Fever,was their many ys, B4 even Ebola, know,my question,hwo it move from is normall place to Abuja,cos always come and go,back to,where only God knows,in Lassa town,in Borno State,never comes to Maiduguri State capital.few days ago was in taraba state yesterday in Abuja,my God,All Rats bring Didfferent killer things.even in Ibandan,Edo,Oyo,River State and Kano all that are new place of Lassa Fever,God,time Africa,keep ur Food clean save from Rats and wash cook very well b4 eating.Mortality rate is Scarying, 40 die out of 86 People,another Nr.2 or § to Ebola,way of Mortality and quick killing.
