Tragic Love: Lead City University Undergraduate Murdered By Boyfriend At Oral Estate Ikota Ajah Lagos

In an unfortunate and shocking incident, Augusta Osedion, a 21-year-old undergraduate student of Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, identified as Benjamin Best aka Killaboi. The gruesome event unfolded in Oral Estate, Ikota, in Ajah, Lagos.

Initial reports suggested that the couple had a heated disagreement that escalated into physical violence, resulting in Augusta’s untimely demise through a fatal stabbing incident.

The chain of events reportedly started on July 11, 2023, when Augusta confided in her mother, Onwabhagbe Cordelia, that she had been involved in a quarrel with Benjamin. Despite Cordelia’s earnest efforts to mediate the situation and restore peace between her daughter and Benjamin, her attempts proved futile.

The situation grew more concerning when all of Cordelia’s subsequent endeavors to communicate with either Augusta or Benjamin through phone calls or other means were met with silence. An increasingly anxious Cordelia then decided to contact Augusta’s roommate for any information about her whereabouts.

Cordelia, accompanied by the roommate, ventured to Benjamin’s residence located in Oral Estate, Ikota, Ajah. Upon arrival, they discovered Augusta’s Mercedes Benz C30 parked in front of the property. However, the apartment was locked and no one responded from inside.

Cordelia, deeply worried by these findings, alerted the police on July 15. Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed the chilling scene discovered by the investigators. He stated, “Our detectives, led by DPOAjah, arrived at the scene, and upon forcing the door open, they found Augusta’s lifeless body, shockingly mutilated, lying in a pool of her blood.”

Hundeyin continued, “Despite the advanced state of decomposition, we detected signs of violence and struggle on the body. The body has since been taken to General Hospital mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy and preservation.”

Police also discovered a note at the scene, suspected to have been left by Benjamin. The area has been cordoned off for thorough crime scene investigation. Hundeyin added, “Our preliminary investigation is currently in progress, and we plan to transfer the case to SCIID Panti, Yaba, for an extensive investigation.”

In a bizarre turn of events, the prime suspect, Benjamin, confessed to the crime through his Instagram account while remaining on the run from law enforcement.

In a detailed confession, Benjamin expressed remorse for his actions, saying, “I deeply regret the series of events that led to this tragedy, born from a place of pain, betrayal, and toxic arguments. I wish it never happened. I didn’t plan any of this. After the incident, fear took over, and I ran away.”

Benjamin admitted that an argument spiraled into a violent confrontation involving a knife. However, he denied the allegations about mutilating Augusta’s body, claiming that no body parts were intentionally removed.

He pledged to turn himself in to the police, stating, “I am prepared to face the consequences, even if it means death. Taking a life can never be justified, and I am ready to be held accountable for my actions.”

The tragic loss of Augusta Osedion has sent shockwaves through her community and the wider public, as law enforcement continues to piece together the circumstances that led to her death.

Tragic indeed. Is that where her parent sent her to. This is the reward of disobedience
