Life Is Tough For Most Nigerians In Canada – Think Twice Before Relocating
Hello, my wonderful NaijaGists.com family! It’s been a long time, and I miss all of you dearly. Life has been a rollercoaster for me, with family and business commitments keeping me busy. Most painfully, I lost my first son last year after he took the COVID shot. This pain is something I carry with me every day.
Today, I want to have a heart-to-heart with you about life in Canada, especially for Nigerians thinking about relocating there. Let’s talk frankly and in our way.
My people, how una dey? Na me, your paddy, NG. I don come again to share with you what’s been going on and to give you some serious advice.
I waka comot Canada finally mid-last year after I lost my first son to the cold hands of death at the age of 15, after he took the COVID shot. Even though I still dey shuttle between Naija and Canada sometimes, Naija na my home of choice. I don talk am many times for NaijaGists.com, and today, I go yarn more about am.
I come back for vacation a few weeks ago, and I fit confirm say the new generation of Nigerians wey dey relocate to Canada, most of them dey suffer and smile. Yes, na true. Things don become so expensive for this North American country wey dey under the control of mostly Indians and Arab investors.
Housing Wahala
Housing matter don become serious gbege. Most new immigrants dey live for homeless shelters. Imagine! These same people get house and comfortable accommodation for Naija before dem decide to relocate to Canada in hope of a better life. The shock no be here. The price of rent don skyrocket, and e no dey easy to find better place stay.
For Naija, at least, we fit manage somehow, but for Canada, if you no get serious money, you go suffer. You fit hear stories of people wey dey live inside their cars because dem no fit afford rent. Na true life story be this o.
Job Palava
Finding good job na another serious issue. If you no get your own business or ajeseku (extra cash), abeg no just bother to relocate to Canada now. E no go make sense. Plenty people don go there with high hopes, but dem end up doing menial jobs just to survive. The dream wey dem carry for mind don turn to serious hustle and disappointment.
For here, Naija, even with all our wahala, at least you fit see small business do, hustle dey pay. But for Canada, e no easy at all. The competition dey fierce, and the opportunities no dey as we dey think.
Missing Connection
I know say I never really get time to connect with una as I used to do. Business and family commitment don take much of my time, but I promise una, I go soon start to show more love to my beloved blog, the one and only NaijaGists.com. All those other blogs na counterfeit. NaijaGists.com na the real deal.
Final Thoughts
As I dey talk to una now, I dey on my way back to Naija. I no fit wait to reach my sweet home. No place like home o jare. Nigeria get im own wahala, but na our wahala, and we sabi how to navigate am.
Before I go, I wan make una think twice before you decide to relocate to Canada. No be everything wey shine be gold. Make una dey wise. I go catch una later, make I go catch my flight ojare.
See you on the other side of the world. Naija here I come. My sweet home, my people. Make we dey look out for each other, and no forget say no place be like home.
Take care, my people. Na your paddy, NG, dey yarn. Stay safe, stay blessed, and always stay connected. I go dey reach out more often, I promise. Peace and love to una.
