Another Divisional Police Officer has been arrested in Lagos over rape.

Mr Oladipo Afolayan was recently picked up at Magodo Police station for allegedly raping a woman in his office.

The suspect had only been recently posted to Magodo police station when the alleged sexual assault occurred.

The female victim, a suspect of an ongoing investigation reported the suspect to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Umar Manko.

The matter was latter transferred to the X Squad, a department at the state command which is in charge of investigating police crimes and misdemeanours.

The case has been subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
