Miss Bim Bim Beauty Contest For Women Banned By Burkina Faso Over Sexist Poster
The government of Burkina Faso has placed a ban on the annual biggest buttocks beauty contest for women.
The 3rd edition of the event tagged “Miss Bim-Bim’ was cancelled after banners of two women with exaggerated behinds sparked social media outcry.
While defending the government ban, Burkina Faso Minister Laure Zongo said:
“Our role is to do everything to avoid damaging the image of women,“.
Zongo said social media outburst persuaded the President to call for a ban on the event.
