Nigerians in the diaspora set New York on fire with excitement and joy to celebrate the country’s 58th independence anniversary with parade and carnival.
The largest U.S. city was painted with green-white-green insignia as Nigerians from all walks of life united for the country.
The parade, which started on Second Avenue on 54th Street in Manhattan, terminated at the Nigerian House on 44th Street.
This was followed by the Independence Day Festival at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, near the United Nations Headquarters.
Known as the largest celebration of Nigeria not happening in the homeland, the 27th annual Nigerian Independence Day Parade celebrates the very best of Nigeria’s food, culture, music and people.
The festival is also Africa’s largest Parade in the U.S., and showcases Nigeria’s unique culture and promotes the positive image of Nigeria to the rest of the world.
This is what the Fulanis want while they are reclaiming the whole land in Nigeria with their cows, make una dey celebrate indirect rule for another mans’ land, anyway, I guess you guys have nothing to do with that space called Nigeria anymore.
I don’t know if Nigerians are the most foolish people on this planet, such crowd can chase the whole of the recycled leaders misleading Nigerians for decades now, you are celebrating independent and not remarking it in another mans’ land…nonsense.
Mon, you are correct joo… I am confused too, I don’t think Nigeria is redeemable; the power of darkness and sons of disobedience within are just too powerful. Only the HOLY TRINITY can solve our problems, they are worse compare to Biblical period.
Nigeria seems to have people with the most stupid and gullible mindset, celebrating a country with no steady power supply, bad road, zero infrastructure just to name a few. I dare to those ignorant paraders to come live in Nigeria for a year let’s see the bony legs they’ll use to parade rubbish.
Your country dey independent sotey una plenty like this for another man country. People wey dey the real Naija no celebrate at all but all of una wey no sabi whats up dey jubilate over wetin una no sabi. Well done…Happy Abstract Celebration!
Fellow brothers and Sisters, rom the picture you can tell that those in diaspora are more than those at homeland. Mind you, most of them are no more Nigerians because they carry American passport. That is to show that we are loosing our people, our culture, heritage, values and sense of belonging. Before we loose it all, can we do something to reclaim back our sovereignty?. It is sad that we Nigerians are more happier outside our Country than when in our own Country. It should be other way round.
