When did you decide to dump law for acting?

He’s right. One cannot serve two master at thesame time. His two career requires enough time to prepare, reading and understanding of the script or clients statements before he can act the character and defend client in court. Its better he chose one, if not, it would have cause him mental problem.

This story of yours belong to the uninformed, not until you prove your merit in a court of law. Millions of yours colleagues still roam the courts and have never won a case so, therefore your law degree still remain in the classroom and on paper as a symbol of ever having gone through lessons of law.
