Nollywood Actress Gloria Mba Gets Self Esteem Back After Divorce, Inspires Other
Feb 6, 2018 – Nollywood Actress Gloria Mba Recovers From Low Self Esteem Issue Caused By Marriage Crash, Inspires Other
Gloria Mba, a popular Nollywood actress who has been secretly battling some personal issues since her husband was allegedly snatched by her best friend years ago has recovered from her low self esteem battle.
The actress told fans she is never giving up on herself no matter what life throws at her.
Here is what the single mother of one wrote on her official FB page yesterday:
Dear Self,
I have watched you suffer for many years. You have worked hard. You have carried an enormous weight of responsibility…for relationships, finances, family, home, and career. You have strived to do the best you could, always looking for ways to improve and please. You have said “yes” when you should have said “no.”
You have taken care of others when you should have taken care of yourself. You have wanted to look good and be good and do good. But when the burden became too much, fatigue –emotional, and physical – has brought you to your knees. You have felt alone and hopeless, wondering what happened to the fairy tale life of your dreams. And then you have forced yourself to get up and do it all over again. And at some point you have simply given up.
You have endured much. I have felt the pain of your broken heart. I have known your terror from being abandoned, neglected, and abused – especially by yourself. I have watched you shrink from confrontation and intimacy to protect your vulnerability. I understand your need to be in control and to handle it all and to be perfect. For in doing so, the voice of worthlessness and “not enough” can be silenced, at least for a while.
I am so sorry for your suffering. The immediate pleasure and comfort of food has insulated you from it, but the effects are fleeting. In the wake of overeating, the guilt, shame, regret, and weight insidiously disintegrate your self-esteem and your experience of life. You have entered the downward spiral toward a slow, ugly death. You have given up on YOU!
Dear Self, please forgive me for what you have been or done and for what you have not done. Please believe how precious and wonderful you are. Others see it even if you dont .You are a gift to the world, and your withholding the gift by hiding behind the insulation is selfish! You are here for a reason, a purpose. What do you think that purpose is? Why are you afraid to be your magnificent self? Why are you dying a slow death instead of living a passionate and fulfilling life?
As your wise Self, I want you to know I believe in the preciousness and beauty of you. I commit to supporting you with these promises:
I promise to always see you and stand for your highest and best.
I promise to be your partner throughout the whole transformation process.
I promise to love you deeply, even when your fear is really, really loud.
I promise that all parts of you are welcome – anger, grief, resistance, ALL!
I promise to show you how to love yourself and support you in creating a life you love.
I promise I will never, never give up on you period.
With love and belief,
Me – Your Wise
