April 27, 2017 – Ooni Of Ife Demands Apology For Oba Of Eleko Of Eko Rilwan Akiolu, Threatens To Invoke The Wrath Of Alale (Ancestors)
At last the Ooni of Ife has opened up on the pain he went through when the Oba Eleko of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu disgraced his throne.
In a statement released by Ooni Of Ife Palace spokesman, Tunde Awoyemi today, Akiolu has been ordered to tender an unreserved apology to the Ooni of ife or face the wrath of the Ancestors.

Good one there. That baale of Lagos called Akiolu must apologise to the ooni.His unruly behaviour is highly condemnable and an insult to the ooni and the entire Yoruba kingdom.It is bizarre. Abi the Akiolu dey take igbo ne?

I think Oba of Eko deserve whatever measure is taking against him for his affront and discourtesy towards Ooni of Ife in social gathering where many dignitaries were also present. He really has to apologize in order to bring back the atmosphere of peaceful co-existence between him and the Ooni of Ife.

yes pls they must do anything for Akinolu Oba of Lagos, if he didnt apology to Ooni.in yoruba tradition any Ooni is in Image of Oduduwa,the first Ooni and father of yoruba race, is head of all yoruba obas.they should do anything for him,he deserve it, hwo on earth,he will do that to Ooni,in public, because of is age,forget that, he have see what nobody have see, so is now a leader of every liveing yoruba person,Ooni ,Iku Baba Yeye ,Oonirisa amoung Obas.

Media and some comentators are major problems we have in this country, oba akinolu has denined the snub allegation, whot else did you people want, is better to forget the matter and find another things to do instead of disrupt the peace that might mentain between the two OBAs and their communities. African Journalist palaval when they see red they will try by all means to add stains so that they will call it brown to enable them make money.

I honestly think people should let this matter die a natural death. Ooni, Kabiyesi, please forgive and move on. Keep on being humble. Oba Akiolu disgraced himself. He obviously has no class. See the way he embarrassed himself spraying $1 one dollar bills at Awujale’s daughter’s wedding last year, trying to compete with Alaafin, who pushed him out with his extravagant spending. I saw the Naira “disgrace” American dollar for the first time. An Oba who wears sunglasses 24/7 is not someone I would pay much attention to. I wonder if he smokes something that he has to hide the color of his eyes from the public? Some are born Royals and some are “wanna be”. Ooni is a man of class, thorough bred and a VIP prior to ascending the throne of his ancestors. Do not stoop to his low level. Let him live with his conscience. Long live Ooni Ojaja II, and long live Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yorubaland.

@Ola bello I don’t think it makes any meaning to blame the happenings between the two Obas on media and commentators. Oba Rilwan Akinolu of Eko’s denial of what happen doesn’t mean he’s saying the truth. I just wonder if you have watched the viral video online of how he literally snubbed his fellow Oba’s. Does that attitude portray any respect for a cultural value, dignity and etiquette that is often found among the monarchs of yoruba kingdom? What image are we Nigerians showing to the world when we have no love among ourselves? How will the outside world value us when our mind is dark, rotten, full of hatred and hostility towards one another? If those who are suppose to preside over their constituencies are displaying undignify moral character in the public,I just wonder the negative impact it would have on the population they are presiding over. when we see the truth let’s always uphold it and stop pouring out unnecessary blame on journalists for simply doing their job without which we would hardly know what’s happening around us.

@ Ola Bello, you must be ***** for supporting that agbero baale of Eko. Watch the video before you make stupid comment. Its only an agbero oba like Akiolu that will wear sunglasses like a criminal. No wonder he made the stupid statement during the last governorship election that “anybody that fails to vote for Ambode will die in the lagoon”. What insult,ordinary baale of Lagos snubbing a whole OONI.Maybe the baale acted under the influence of alcohol. His action is an insult to the entire Yoruba Land.
