A 35-year-old Hausa man, a die hard fan of Buhari has embarked on a long journey to Lagos state to appreciate the Yoruba people who voted massively for Buhari.
The resident of Rigasa in Igabi LGA of Kaduna took off around 6:35am at the palace of Kaduna monarch Alhaji Kabiru Isa.
This is what the father of two told reporters before leaving today:
“I have decided to embark on this journey to Lagos because I want to go and thank Yoruba people for their immense support and contributions that led to the victory of General Muhammadu Buhari during the March 28 presidential election.
The decision to undertake the journey came to my mind after analysing the votes cast for Buhari by the Yoruba people and after I discussed my intention with my immediate family and friends, they encouraged me to go on the journey.”
“I have never been to Lagos before; this is my first time and only God knows how many days I will spend before reaching Lagos”.
“I don’t have any fear because I believe in God that nothing will happen to me on the road; all I want is people’s prayers so that I will reach Lagos safely.”

I ve said it before that this seem to be trend now, u want to go & appreciate the yorubas 4 voting GMB ,as if other tribe didn’t vote 4 him, i don’t know y the hausa & yorubas would always think that this country belongs to them hence they will always want 2 rule, if only the old eastern region could unite & form a strong ally, may we remind the hausa trekers & bicycle riders that this country belongs to all of us. are all these an indication the cattle rearers & shoemakers will soon harass and intimidate pple with their daggers & go scotfree. God help us

It’s a free country so let him do whatever he is happy doing, so long as it is legal. As to Yorubas and Hausas thinking that Nigeria belongs to them, as this writer alleges – that is absolute nonsense. The Yoruba people were solidly behind Jonathan when he became President by chance and the Hausas wanted to push him out. Jonathan’s undoing was his lack of leadership, senseless utterances that defy common sense, e.g. referring to Boko Haram as “our siblings” and his fear of them and refusal to tackle corruption and shedding of innocent lives. I will never vote or support an Ibo person again, after realizing their only ambition is to take us back to Biafra, which is a dream that will never materialize, take it or leave it. I gladly support any aspiring leader who genuinely has a vision to make Nigeria a better place for us, our children and future generations, irrespective of his tribe. The world is too civilized to blindly support someone just because he is from your part of the country or same tribe. We need to move our country forward and vote for true leadership, positive changes, responsibility and accountability. Long live Nigeria.

Thank you so much Lola. I share your view particularly about the Ibos, though l recognize the fact that they are not all the same. It is very unfortunate that they are what they are.
