In line with Kogi state new environmental sanitation law that calls for the arrest of all stray animals, Kogi State Environmental sanitation officials have arrested 8 stray animals caught in the premises of the State Secretariat in Lokoja.

Kogi Environment Minister Rosemary Osikoya said in a Press Conference yesterday that the owners of the stray animals arrested by ‘Operation Arrest All Stray Animals’ operatives have two days to pay fine for the release of the animals.

She added that all arrested stray animals with no owner will be auctioned off 3 days after their arrest.

  1. Saying that the goats have been arrested is comparable to saying that a ram and a ewe were caught fornicating in public. Folks, we need to use language sensibly. THE GOATS HAVE BEEN IMPOUNDED OR SEIZED.

  2. The animals the owners refuse or neglect to redeem will be kept where ? But jokes aside, stray animals are nuisance, eating other people’s precious vegetables and flowers and sometimes causing accidents for motorists. Arrest them or as our own @MG II correctly pointed out… Impound Seize them jowo !!!
