September 28, 2016 – Pictures: Confusion As Nigerian Woman Marries White Mannequin In Husband’s Presence In Owerri Imo State

A Nigerian bride who married in Owerri few days ago got the web buzzing after her cousin released photos of her posing besides the statue of a white man on Facebook.

The web went agog with bloggers claiming that the statue represented her white husband in the US who couldn’t make it to Nigeria for their traditional wedding.

To correct the wrong report making rounds online, the same cousin disclosed that the statue was part of the wedding decoration.

Here is the photo of her husband

  1. We are so relieved there is a live husband around. However, in recent times couples living”abroad” have been known to have their photographs displayed at the venue of their traditional Marriage ceremonies in their absence while their parents carry out the traditional marriage rites in Nigeria and later the “white wedding” takes place abroad. People devise new means of cutting costs and inconvenience in their ceremonies but I never heard of marrying statues before so I’m glad that is not the case here.

  2. I thought as much. Even if any tribe in this country want to go mad about marriage like the Whites, it can‘t possibly start with the “Igbo Kwenus“.

    I take a stroll…
