Cheking out the list of Aso Rock Patience Jonathan Dinner attendants, one could easily see the numbers were largely skewed in the celebrities of Igbo extractions and a few from other places. The significant lesson here is that the film industry tagged Nollywood has never been representative of an entire national coverage. Its a total misrepresentation to call it Nollywood when in actual fact it should have been “Igbowood”. No wonder there has always been the dispute as to who pioneered film Industry in Nigeria and how Igbos came to own up a film industry that has no national coverage but has Nigeria name attached. There are no different versons of Hollywood in America, infact Hollywood is unrival today in the world because it represents the entire film industry in America and not sectional as in Nollywood of the Igbos of South Eastern Nigeria. Bollywood in India is known to belong to Indian film industry as a single unit except, in Nigeria where certain sections of the country are always and continue to be saparatist minded in all they do. If that attitude is of any advantage for as long as it lasted, it probably might have yielded some dividend to a tribe that continue to complain of marginalisation, they continue to be excluded from the centre of socio political equations. They seem comfortable with supporting others to become leaders while they play the second fiddle roles at all times. Being lone standers in all important national issues has never helped the people of the South Eastern corridor of Nigeria and, will this time round not help their political course. It is this very selfish inside-looking attitute, despite their portential in all human endeavours; that has made them normads and have largely negleted their home territories, left it undeveloped and as a result find themselves in wilderness in their own country Nigeria and beyond.

Olatubosun you sound pained, pls let me explain some things to u,Yoruba film only speak Yoruba in all their movie,by doing that they have automatically sectionalized themselves, the Igbo marketers being very good in business knew the had to use the English language while infusing a bit of Igbo languages, culture etc in their movie thereby selling their culture at the same time reaching out to a larger audience,I can bet patience Jonathan like many other tribes in Nigeria doesn’t watch Yoruba movies because they don’t even market their goods outside of the southwest, and their English translations are always filled with errors so even if you decide to watch the films if you don’t understand Yoruba you may not understand their movie, secondly the people of the southeast don’t need oil or politics to be successful, the southeasterners have more rich and middle-class people than any other tribe in Nigeria who made their money without oil or politics, anywhere they go they must develop that place, whether it is their land or not ,supporting others is not a bad thing so stop being aggrieved.south east has long removed the mentality of oil or politics must make me rich,a south easterner believe in working hard and if you go to most villages in the south east u will see beautiful houses, they don’t depend on govt and they don’t like free this, free that, they work hard so stop hating them ok,

Justme & Chi, I am very happy you both responded in very strong language to my comments about Igbo celebrities attending Patience’s Dinner and the attitude of Igbo people to popular national opinions. Your responses meant you understood my thinking and invariably disagreed with me on all I wrote. The good thing about your responses is that you both agreed with me your people are economic normads who migrate just anywhere and everywhere in such of livelihood and non existent jobs in every street corners of Nigeria; ending up becoming armed robbers in most cases and becoming street marauders of no specific directions. It would have been a credit to the people of the South Eastern Nigeria if other ethnic Nigerian tribes feel so comfortable living, doing business and owning properties in Igboland as Igbos do in all parts of Nigeria but that is not case and may never be. The fact the rest of Nigeria do not have that trust in Igbo people as to own properties or do business in Igboland is an indictment on the chronic separatist and inward-looking character of the Igbo people. The Yorubas are the most accomodating, tolerants and sophisticated of all Nigerian tribes by any standard and, that’s the reasons why the Igbo people found home more in Yorubaland than anywhere else in Nigeria. The history of the resentment of the people of the South Eastern Nigeria aftermath of the Nigerian civil war was very replete and well documented, Yorubas were known to have extented hands of reconciliations to the Igbos after the civil war by returning all properties left behind by Igbos at the height of the war. Igbos should be grateful to the Yorubas for that gesture and their continued toletants of people of all shade and characters, particularly the hoodlums of South Eastern Nigeria parading as traders but, who are largely armed robbers as shown by statistict in Nigeria and beyond. It is undoubtedly clear to Nigerians that 70-80% of any Igboman business is built on fraud and armed robbery. Let nobody tell a story of a fraudulent tribe as though Nigerian prospect is dependent on a tribe who are regretably known worldwide as the most harddened armed robbers of all Nigerian tribes. Let the Igbos learn from the history of the Isralites who decided to return home to the present day Israel after the 2nd world war and, after loosing more than 6 million people in detention camp. Home is home; Igbos should return home to develop their homeland and stop taunting properties owned in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Ibadan etc. those are not your homeland and you must learn from the history of Nigerian civil war.

Zach Orji , Kanayo and most especially Fred Amata, l am so disappointed. These guys were my favourites.
Fred is a huge disappointment to me . He doesn’t appear to be one of the hungry ones in these pictures. I wander what else Omoni Oboli wants.

My dear, south westerners are really not productive so u can’t find them developing anywhere, for your information, an average IGboman will not sell his father’s land so they don’t need you,go to the most remote villages and offer them money to purchase their land you will most likely get no for an answer,so my dear they don’t need you to come,Yoruba are not accommodating, they don’t have a choice cos when the ibos wanted so much to leave, they all campaigned against it and even forced the ibos to stay, that should tell u something if you are smart, nothing is forever, someday soon Nigeria will cease to exist then you will find out that IG bOman was never your problem in the first place, why not you people declare a republic and see if other tribes will not be relieved, hausas produce food,Niger Delta brings oil to the table,Igbo builds the economy, what exactly do your tribe do other than touting, stealing, politics, backbiting and hating on other tribes,I even prefer a Yoruba woman to their men cos their women are hardworking, you see them in the market till 11pm while their men are busy womanising and depending on agbero job and women to feed them you can hardly find a Yoruba man who can shoulder a woman’s responsibility without asking her to work, pls stop ranting and look around yoou compare, in life their is always hierarchy whether we accept it or not, just like the while man pass black man,if you continue hating on Igbo guess what in a few months you will be diagnosed with cancer cos hatred destroys you not the person you hate. The truth is great people are never loved just like the Arabs hate Israel but Israel remains their king till end of time, people always hate the people above them.do u also know that the Yoruba man cannot manage marriage, look around you and count the no of igbos s who have multiple families compare them to the Yoruba, that also speaks a lot,I don’t expect much from you because all I hear whenever am in Lagos is oloshi, oloriburuku, your tribe love to curse and the also love to sneer at people or should I say yimu at people, the only tribe with multiple religions claiming to be liberal while they are confused,no wonder my Hausa friend told me Yoruba are regarded as fake Muslims.today dem dey Alfa, tomorrow woli, next tomorrow babalawo.what a tribe, don’t bother replying, look around take down the list of vices committed by your people and compare it to Igbo and see the difference.go and ask any informed police and they will tell u the state and the tribe with the highest no of criminals, for a Yoruba man every non indigene is an Igbo.

Chi & Justme, My simple advice to you both is to go read the history books of the Nigerian civil war and refresh your memories about what brought about the war which claimed the lives of more than 2 million Igbos and, why there’s so much resentment against the Igbos wherever they find themselves. Nobody hates the Igbos, the Igbos should do a soul search and face reality they are a tribe most other Nigerians tribes reluctantly live and deal with, with a lot of suspecions; either as co-tenants or even neighbours. Why is there so much descent against a single tribe as Igbos. The issues of hatred does not apply here. Igbos should reflect deeply about their characters and orientations because the same criminal character traits has followed them even across West African sub-Region. Yes, Ghanaians hate Nigerians for the reasons that Igbos commit crime in Ghana and constitute the largest number of foreign natinals in Ghanaian prisons. The same record of Igbo criminality reflect even in Asian countries, Are Igbos the only Nigerian tribe, why is there so much negative story about the Igbos.???
