A very spiritual event unfolded last night in Badagry area of Lagos state.

According to Lagos State chapter of NEMA, a big Iroko tree located at a popular motor park reportedly caught fire around 7pm with no one setting fire on it.

NEMA spokesperson Farinloye Ibrahim said the tree burned for over 10 hours and every attempt to put out the fire resulted in more flames.

Surprisingly, the spiritual flames which started last night around 7pm went out naturally around 5:30pm tonight.

Farinloye said though the tree was burnt down, but the leaves remain untouched.

The mystery tree is located at Topo Motor Park in Badagry.

The place has become a tourists hot spot.
