Policeman Who Machetes Wife Arrested In Lagos: Michael Okoli Faces Attempted Murder
A Nigerian police officer has been arrested by Okokomaiko division police officials for allegedly attacking his wife with a cutlass.
The incident happened at their home at 4, Abukareem Close, Afromedia Estate, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
His wife, Felicia is in a critical condition at Gbagada General Hospital after she was rejected by many hospitals.
The Delta State-born Okoli confessed that he was angry after he did not find the N70,000 he kept aside for house rent and when he asked his wife about the missing money, she was rude to him.
And in anger he took a sharp cutlass and started attacking Felicia with it.
After the attack, she was taken to several hospitals before she was eventually admitted at Gbagada General Hospital where she is being treated.
Okoli, who is an elder in Celestial Church of Christ at Afromedia and a spy policeman, said he did not know what came over him while carrying out the attack.
P.M.NEWS gathered that it was not the first time Okoli was attacking Felicia with cutlass. He admitted he cut off one of Felicia’s fingers during a quarrel before this incident happened again.
Narrating what happened, Okoli said he kept the N70,000 at home before he went to work and when he returned and checked where he kept the money, it was no longer there.
He said when he asked Felicia about the money, she was rude and started abusing him, asking him whether he was sure he kept any money at home at all.
Felicia reportedly reminded him that he said he had no money and left her to fend for the family.
The response provoked Okoli who attacked her with cutlass.
The couple got married 18 years ago and blessed with four children, two boys and two girls, the eldest being 17.
When P.M.NEWS visited Okoko Police Station, Okoli was was detained in a cell but the DPO, CSP Richard Temple, who confirmed the incident, declined to makefurther comment and referred our reporter to the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer.
A source at the station said Okoli will be charged with attempted murder after the matter had been transferred to SCID, Panti, Yaba for further investigation.

The said felicia is a silly woman and trouble maker, your finger was cut off by this same man and you still live with him,Not only that you still exchange bitter words with him when he was in a boiling state,Were you drunk or applying for a murder case against the mad husband. The money was meant for the family house rent to avoid eviction and public disgrace so he was suppose to be mad as hell.I wonder what your kids went through at their young age when they are helpless and have to watch their parents madness.I hope your madness is not affecting their present behaviour. Mr Okoli, you are a nut case who need a bed in psychiatric hospital. Even a weed controlled man will not go this far with a family member, Cutlass ? as whip or what, wife baters are cowards not to talk of cutlass cutters.what is 70k compare to human life and a police man for that matter and a so called elder in church.infact you need evaluation by a qualify doctor and pastor.Thank God no life was lost so far.You need a special prison with harden criminal where your identity will be reviled to them.

Am not surprise bcos the money was part of the bribe money they were collecting from Okada riders at Okoko junction and environs, if you see how this policemen at Volks, Iyanuba, Ojo Alaba, Ajangbadi junction, Okokomaiko junction, Ilogbo etc use to attack Okada riders as if they are criminals or have comitted crime by riding inside streets, the list amount for any Okada man to bail his Bike is N5,000.00 or you wil not see the bike again, almost all the policemen in that area has bike, the riders pay this money with tears and may at times cause the money before giving it to them. whatever you sow that is what you will reap.
