Sharon Ooja Praises Husband Ugo Nwoke: How The Lord Settled Her In Marriage
Sharon Ooja’s husband name – Ugo Nwoke, Imoke billionaire.
Renowned Nollywood actress, Sharon Ooja Nwoke nee Egwurube recently shared the extraordinary story of how she crossed paths with Ugo Nwoke, her billionaire husband. Known for her role in “Skinny Girl in Transit,” Sharon Ooja tied the knot with Ugo this past June. In a heartfelt testimony at the Harvesters International Church, led by Pastor Bolaji Idowu, she opened up about the spiritual journey that led her to this union.
Despite her outward beauty and financial success, Sharon confessed that she had spent years fervently praying for a life partner. Her turning point came during a profound encounter in the desert, where she had been filming a project. “I was in the desert when the Holy Spirit told me to release my burdens and focus on my personal growth,” she revealed. It was after this spiritual awakening, she believes, that God blessed her with the best husband she could ever ask for.
Reflecting on her earlier mindset, Sharon admitted, “Before marriage, I was one of those women who thought they had everything figured out. Many assume that being beautiful means everything comes easy. But I often found myself in conversation with God, telling Him, ‘You’ve given me work, financial stability, but there’s still something missing.’”
Six years ago, she had a pivotal discussion with Pastor Bolaji, who challenged her expectations of what she wanted in a partner. “I told him I wanted someone who would take care of me, and he pointed out that I wasn’t looking for a partner, I was looking for a bank. He encouraged me to focus on my personal growth.”
Fast forward to last year, Sharon had a life-changing experience while filming in the desert. Cut off from the outside world due to a lack of network, she felt a profound connection with the Holy Spirit. “I remember feeling like I was meant to leave my burdens in that barren land—a place where nothing could grow. I prayed and told God I was ready.”
This moment of surrender was transformative. Sharon acknowledged, “I thought I was wise, but God stripped me of my ego and gave me the most incredible husband.” She shared her testimony to inspire others to trust in divine timing and the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
Interestingly, Sharon also revealed that Ugo proposed to her just two months after they met. She had been introduced to him by one of her sisters, but at first, she wasn’t interested. It was Ugo’s persistence that eventually won her over, coming at a time when she had just healed from what she described as her “worst heartbreak.”
Through her story, Sharon encourages others to keep faith, trust the process, and focus on personal growth, as the answers they seek may come in the most unexpected ways.
In March, Sharon disclosed her private civil wedding to Ugo, a moment she had kept largely out of the public eye. However, on Thursday, she finally shared glimpses of their traditional wedding held in Abuja on her Instagram page, much to the delight of her fans who had long been curious about her partner. The event drew several celebrities, including Funke Akindele, Shaffy Bello, Ini Dima-Okojie, Nancy Isime, Real Warri Pikin, BBNaija’s Bisola, Tola Odunsi, Hilda Baci, and Veekee James, among others.
In a candid conversation with BellaNaija, the star of Oloture reminisced about the whirlwind romance that led to her rapid nuptials. She described her love story as nothing short of miraculous, especially after recovering from the most devastating heartbreak of her life. Sharon shared how her sister introduced her to Ugo while she was in the middle of filming, though at the time, she wasn’t keen on talking to anyone. Despite her initial reluctance, Ugo’s persistence left an impression.
“We didn’t speak much at first. Months went by, and he kept trying to reach me. I thought to myself, ‘This man is consistent,’” Sharon recounted. “Our conversations started getting deeper, and before I knew it, we had talked for hours one night. It was then that I realized I was starting to like him.” Their relationship progressed swiftly; they dated for just over two months, got engaged in the third month, and tied the knot soon after. “I love how everything unfolded,” she added.
At 33, Sharon revealed that her husband’s calm and peaceful nature was one of the key reasons she knew she would marry him. She shared a particular moment that confirmed her feelings: “I was traveling, and he didn’t call me for two days. When I asked why, he said, ‘It seemed like you told me you were going to have fun.’ I replied, ‘Yes, I’m single.’ And he responded, ‘Well, I don’t want you to be single anymore.’”
Back in 2022, Sharon had expressed her belief in keeping her personal life private, particularly after witnessing the public fallout between Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. The actress explained her decision not to broadcast her relationship on social media, echoing the privacy maintained by celebrity couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé. “I’ve never been a fan of public displays of affection on social media,” she explained. “After seeing what happened with Kanye and Kim, I understand why Jay-Z and Beyoncé stay off social media. You don’t need to prove anything to anyone. Be happy in peace. The same people applauding you will be the first to criticize you when things go wrong.”
Sharon’s husband, Ugo Nwoke, also spoke fondly of his wife, expressing how much she had enriched his life. He described Sharon as an accomplished, hardworking, and talented woman. “Sharon is not only incredibly beautiful and talented but also a remarkable woman born to wonderful parents. I am forever grateful to them for raising such a phenomenal individual and for welcoming me into their family,” Ugo remarked during their wedding celebration.
