Shocking: Nigeria Police Force Officers Now Fueling Patrol Vans On With ‘Their Money’

May 17,2016 – Shocking: Nigeria Police Force Officers Now Fueling Patrol Vans On With ‘Their Money’

It has come to the notice of the general public that patrol vans meant for officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force is being fueled by the officers attached to these vehicles. These officers sought for cash to buy petrol into these 4WD patrol vehicles in whatever means they get money.

The fact is that this vehicle must be on the road 24/7 to combat crime. Now that the fuel price has gone up, I wonder how much these officers will spend to buy fuel to patrol for the nation and moreover where will they get the money.

Is this not an avenue to expose these policemen to extortion and corrupt practices.

How can we curb corruption in this nation when the needful is not provided by the authorities?

  1. I believe this can not be happening everywhere may be only in Benin

Point out the station and let report them to IGP

  2. It happens everywhere in Nigeria. The system is so corrupt. I was listening to a police officer over the radio sometime ago and I nearly shed tears for them. The govt provides only one uniform for them and one pair of boots. When a case calls for special assignments, it is only the smart officers that are chosen for such occasions, and you cannot be that smart with only one uniform.

This police officer said that he therefore used his own money to provide 16 additional uniforms and about 3 additional pair of boots for himself. If this could happen, then fuelling the police car with “their” money is a small thing. Just interract with any police officer and you would find out that part of the reasons why they extort money from people is because of their car.

  3. Corruption in Nigeria, when is it going to end? This is wickedness on the officers attached to the vehicles.
