April 20, 2013 – Kogi State Polytechnic Students Stabbed Lecturer To Death
Some unidentified students of Kogi State Polytechnic in Lokoja on April 18, 2013 stabbed Mr Anthony Abimaje, a senior lecturer to death during an intense riot that took the school by storm.
According to witnesses, Abimaje was stabbed in the stomach by some angry students on his way to pick up his daughter and wife at their supermarket which is located on-campus.
According to Police investigation, the deceased was a disciplinarian who never collect bribe from students.
”On sighting him, the students forgot their quarrel, stopped his car, dragged him out, turned the fight on him and stabbed him repeatedly in the stomach and left him bleeding on the ground” – said an eye witness.
Before he met his untimely death on Thursday, he taught research methodology at the Polytechnic of Kogi State in Lokoja.
Good Samaritans immediately rushed him to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
