Top Nollywood actors, Kate Henshaw, Eyinna Nwigwe, Bimbo Manuel, Linda Ejiofor, Yakubu Mohammed and Sani Mu’azu are set to star in upcoming political thriller, ‘4th Republic’.

The film, directed by Ishaya Bako, follows Kate Henshaw’s character (Mabel King) as she races to become Nigeria’s first female governor but is caught up around a heavily marred election.

Following a violent and heavily marred governorship election, aspirant King and her idealistic campaign manager, Ike try to discover what went wrong and seek justice through an election petition tribunal.

Their quest soon becomes a race to find and convince two young witnesses with evidence of violence at the elections to testify in court; before the opposing candidate finds them first.
‘4th Republic’ is written by Emil B. Garuba and Zainab Omaki and directed by Ishaya Bako. He and Garuba co-wrote the Netflix original film, ‘Lionheart’ with C.J. Obasi, Chinny Onwugbenu and Genevieve Nnaji.

‘4th republic’ is a co-production between Griot Studios Ltd. and Amateur Heads Productions with Bem Pever, Ishaya Bako, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju and Ummi A. Yakubu serving as Producers.
The thriller, shot on location in Abuja, Lokoja and Lagos is set for release in cinemas across Nigeria from April 2019 with distribution from FilmOne.

The film is funded by grants from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Open Society Initiative for West Africa.

    yet we see those actors and actresses will still roll with those corrupt politicians in one event or another..screaming next level and four more yrs.mk una practice wetin una de preach.u will expose them with those atrocities but will still chop their evil money through the back door..musicians and actors should stand up for justice cos they have audience who can assist them in changing the nation for the better.even most of them who were opportuned to join the govt got carried away.am tired of watching such hypocritical movies.

    Kate Henshaw is almost looking like Diezani (as oil minister) not the fugitive Diezani. Political nollywood film….I think I’ll just waka pass
