Actress Halima Abubakar: I Shaved My Hair To Support Cancer Victims In Nigeria
Nov 21, 2012 – Actress Halima Abubakar: I Shaved My Hair To Support Cancer Victims In Nigeria
Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar who has kept mum on her alleged cancer battle in a recent interview reveals why she shaved her hair.naijagists.com
According to the actress, because cancer victims usually suffer hair loss, she decided to show support for them at a workshop by shaving her own hair too.
Here is a message from Halima on this pressing issue:
“I was invited to participate in cancer awareness campaign by Waodiva and MTN. They did workshops on cancer, and a lot of survivors attended. I cried when I saw them. It was really shocking that people can go through that traumatic experience. I now decided to take off my hair as a way of honoring them. If you shave your hair, you understand better what it is. If you have someone that has gone through the ailment, you will understand what I am talking about. They normally cut their hair. Who doesn’t want hair? Hair is every woman’s glory. Shaving my hair is my own way of supporting the call against the dreaded disease.” – Halima
That’s so sweet of her.
