Sept 2nd, 2013 – SSS Detains Arik Airplane Tyre Passenger Daniel Oikhena; Lawyer Begs For His Release

The boy who became a star 2 weeks back after he flew Arik Air domestic flight on tyre from Benin to Lagos State is still in SSS detention.

Nigeria’s State Security Service officials are still holding Daniel Oikhena in detention following his risky ordeal.

A group who vowed to sponsor Daniel’s education till University level are now calling on SSS to release the boy.

The group under the leadership of Amitolu Shittu said they will meet with SSS officials on Tuesday to try and secure his release

Shittu condemned the continued detention of the boy and appealed to the security agencies to release him without further delay.

He said that the security agencies had enough time to carry out their investigation and urged them not keep the boy longer than necessary.

“They have had enough time to carry out their investigations. We are ready to stand as guarantor to the boy and if the security agencies are not ready to release him, they should charge him to court where we are again ready to defend the innocent boy.

“We believe he is just an innocent child who should not be blamed for the security lapses in the airport.

“The security lapses in Benin Airport have further proved that Nigeria is not secure and so the boy should not be made to suffer unduly.”

    That boy is just thirteen
Therefore he is a child. As
a mother I know what his mother
    Is passing through.she may be
    blaming herself for what happened.
She may be wondering if d
boy had died in d process.
Pls u people shd release him
or charge him to court abeg.
    I know u won’t charge him to
court bc u don’t have any caseam
Are u keeping him to know if he is a boko?, u know where
those one are and even when u
    Catch them they usually escape.
