Nov 26, 2013 – MKO Abiola’s Wife Arrested For Fraud In Lagos: Dr Doyin & Others Charged By SFU

Former Managing Director of the defunct Concord Newspapers, Dr. Doyin Abiola has been arraigned before the Federal High Court, Lagos, for fraud.

A statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ngozi Isintume-Agu said that the Financial Malpractices Investigation Unit (FMIU) of Special Fraud Unit (SFU) said that between 2006 and 2008, as a Director of the Integrated Microfinance Bank, Dr. Abiola granted to herself without collateral and approval from the Management, the sum of N26,611,246.48.

Dr. Abiola, of 42/46 Moshood Abiola Crescent, Ikeja, Lagos, and wife of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, is one of four Managing Directors or Directors of Integrated Microfinance Bank (IMFB) located at 6A Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, who were arrested and charged by the SFU.

The others are Akinteye Simon Ademola, Dr. Jerry Orimovuohoma and Oladapo Bello.

The SFU said the four officials of IMFB unauthorized credit facilities to the tune of N327,566,000 to themselves and other related companies without collateral and that the loans are still outstanding. In the forensic investigation conducted by FMIU of SFU, the Directors were found wanting in the discharge of their duties while on the Board of Integrated Microfinance Bank (IMFB).

· Ademola of Plot 7, block 90, Mobolaji Ogunde Crescent, Magodo GRA Phase 2, Lagos converted the sum of N131.176 million to his personal use without approval.

· Orimovuohoma of 129B Oba Ladejobi Street, GRA, Ikeja granted unauthorized credit facility to the tune of N29,200,000.00 to himself without collateral.

· Bello of 23/25 Ijora Causeway, Ijora, Lagos recklessly granted the sum of N3,200,000.00 to himself without collateral.

“The bank liquidity was greatly affected with the sum the directors took,” the statement said. The case comes up at the Federal High Court on December 10.

Since the creation of this nation,re there no records of d ****** committing crimes like Fraud, robbery, internt fraud, embezzlement, killing, human ritual killing, prostitution, political god fatherism/corruption,drug /human trafficking, corruption, baby sale, etc. If there re no records then u can judge another tribe. This is for d tribalistic bile heart individuals dat re quick to generalize. I bet Doyin Abiola is frm mars. An old woman stealing from d masses. Remove d log frm ur eye before judging sme one.

You are indeed an idiot! Since when have we now become so tribalistic? This is a big shame. As if we do not have enough problems as it is. Do we now have to add tribalism unto our long catalogue of problems and misfortunes? If we travel outside the shores of this country and we are discriminated against by a foreigner wont’t we scream racism. Shame on all of you who use this forum as an outlet to spew your hatred nad senselessness. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!I shall continue to see a fellow Nigerian regardless where he/she is from as my brother or sister. The more fragmented we become the more difficult things become for the country.Whilst you guys are concentrating on fighting each other, the politicians will be busy embezzling the economy into oblivion.

Judy I’m not sure you are trying to equalise Dr Doyin Abiola’s case with the legendary criminal records of **** people in Nigeria and around the world that has tagged the whole country as a people with criminal tentencies. Judy pls go and check the statistics of Nigerian criminals records outside the country and the dominant number of people of **** extractions in foreign prisons. Besides, your equalization is unintelligent because Dr Doyin Abiola did not defraud but borrowed money like every individual, and records are there to prove she contracted the loan. The difference with ****criminality is clear for all to see.

@Shade….The titile of this story bears dat Doyin Abiola was charged with fraud,u understand wat a count charge means.Since when did unauthorized obtaining of loan in a financial institution requires sentimental analyses? On statistics pls tell me where u got d well documented records with grounded research free of bias analysis with concluded result dat ****** hve tagged nigeria at home n abroad wit criminal tendencies. I watch australian border on cbs majority of nigerians caught wit hard drugs re *****. I will be bias to generalize ur tribe based on dat. Remember ur tribe recently brought nigeria to lime light in terrorism. Any crime d igbos commit at home n abroad, there equally ****** committing d same crime too….dats d truth.

The focus is… DON’T STEAL FROM PUBLIC FUNDS MEANT TO ASSIST PEOPLE TO BE FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT WITH THEIR BUSINESSES…. It doesn’t matter what part of the country you enthically come from, what matters most is not abusing your office thereby depriving others of the services in which your office is employed to do… whether monies have being stolen abroad or back home, the fact remains that…you don’t love Nigerians and Nigeria…. WHERE ARE YOUR MORALS AND ACCOUNTABILITY…. power isn’t permanent, it is handed over…. you stay and leave another person takes over, so on and so forth….WHATEVER ONE DOES IN THE DARK, WILL SURELY COME TO LIGHT IN THE DAYTIME…. whatever we do, if we think because of our position and what we are in the society, we aren’t accountable to anyone and that the law is beneath you…. you are accountable to GOD…. when we all stand before him, he will open the book and read what you are to you, how will you defend yoursef?….. There is JUGDEMENT AWAITING EVERYONE… TRIBALISM HAS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH IT… GOD HIMSELF HAS NEVER COUNTED, NEITHER DID HE PUT PERCENTAGE ON ANY TRIBE TO SEE WHICH ONE IS HIGHER IN CRIME THAN THE OTHER
