Accessing Our New Dawn Heritage Through The Force Of Faith

By David Oyedepo

Welcome to another exciting edition. Today, we shall focus on ‘Accessing our New Dawn Heritage through the Force of Faith!’.

It is important to know that New Dawn is about experiencing new things; that is, change of story from glory to glory and paths that keep shinning brighter and brighter (Deuteronomy 33:25; 2 Corinthians 3:18).

We understand from the Scripture that, faith is a Kingdom mystery that confers mastery on believers. It confers us with supernatural mastery over all life’s situations and circumstances. As it is written: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith (1 John 5:4). It took faith for the Israelites to cross the Red Sea to the other side. Also, it took faith for Abraham to receive Isaac as promised by God.

Furthermore, he believed God was able to raise Isaac back to life even if he had to sacrifice him (Genesis 22:16-18). Thus, it is impossible to experience New Dawn without faith because faith is an ever-overcoming force. Even when the storms might rage on our way to the other side, it will take faith to cross over. We must recognise that where our faith stops is where our testimony stops; faith is our life wire!

Furthermore, faith has unlimited capacity for growth. It is written: We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth (2 Thessalonians 1:3).

Thus, faith is a growing spiritual virtue. However, we must learn how to grow our faith so we can keep crossing to the other side. Also, at redemption, God has dealt with every one of us a measure of faith (Luke 19:13). As a result, it is our faith that determines the limits of divine interventions in our lives. Remember, faith is not a risk; it is our access to our rights. Therefore, jealously guard your faith!

How can we Access our New Dawn Heritage through the Force of Faith?

Faith is a spiritual virtue and will require spiritual investment to grow (Galatians 6:7-8).

Engage in Diligent Study of the Word: As it is written: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). There are two hearing in the above scripture; the first is hearing, the second is understanding. It is what we understand from the Word that stirs faith in us. For instance, the Ethiopian eunuch was reading the Bible and Philip said: …Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him (Acts 8:30-31). But as soon as understanding came alive, his faith came alive. Thus, faith is a product of our spiritual understanding of the truth. So, engage in the diligent study of the Word to the point of understanding.

Engage your Spirit in the Search: The Bible says: The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly (Proverbs 20:27). We are limited in our natural realm; so, let’s climb up to the spirit realm so we can access the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14).Remember, the Holy Ghost can only teach our spirits; He cannot teach our minds. It is written: Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:13). So, let’s engage our spirit in the search; by so doing, we will find it quickly. Also, we should not just engage our intellect because it cannot comprehend the truth as the truth is beyond intellectual realm. Furthermore, we need a spiritual understanding of the Word by engaging, among other things, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17-18).

Engage in Prayer and Fasting in a Search when you are not finding: As it is written: Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21; see also 2 Corinthians 4:4). That is why He said when we pray and fast, our light will break out of obscurity (Isaiah 58:6/8/10). Among the non-negotiable price in our search for New Dawn experiences is prayer and fasting because it is the Word we find that defines the realm of faith we operate in.

Engage in a Lifestyle of Thanksgiving and Praise: It is written: Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name (Psalm 100:4, 16:11). People that operate by praise and thanksgiving as a lifestyle do not struggle for revelation.
In conclusion, to gain access to our New Dawn package, it takes the force of faith. For instance, the paralytic man took his inheritance by the force of faith as seen in Mark 2:4-5: And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. Jesus saw their faith and not their efforts. Another instance is the woman with the issue of blood. The Bible records: And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour (Matthew 9:20-22).So, it is not just sitting down and waiting for something to happen; it is engaging the force of faith to deliver our rights.

However, new birth is a fundamental requirement for us to engage the force of faith. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer:

Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!”
