Princess Chinwe Kanu, the younger sister of detained Director of Radio Biafra and leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has raised the alarm over the health condition of her elder brother, saying that personnel of the Department of State Services (DSS) want to kill him in detention.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Sun at her father’s compound in Afara Ukwu, Umuahia, Abia State, Princess Kanu said what she saw of her elder brother when she attended his trial in Abuja on Monday made her to conclude that the DSS wants to kill him while in their custody.
“Honestly, the way they are going about this case I’m not comfortable with it because when I saw my brother, he looked like a shadow of his former self. He looked pale and anaemic and he has physical pain as a result of torture, starvation and the hardship he is going through in the hands of the DSS operatives,” she alleged.
“After the court session, when he (Nnamdi) came out, as the IPOB members and the Biafrans were outside the gate while some were in the court premises hailing him and chanting: “Nnamdi, Nnamdi ka anyi ga-eso”, the way the DSS man roughhandled him, he almost fell down. I don’t know what his reasons were, but I’m happy Nnamdi never challenged him.
She said the DSS should know that her brother was not a criminal, but only a prisoner of conscience. “They held him so tight that he screamed and I felt bad. Because his health is deteriorating by the day, I am calling on rights activists, the international crime code, the Amnesty International, the UN and the British commission to come and rescue their citizen in the hands of the DSS. They are so mean and wicked, they will kill him if care is not taken”, she pleaded.
Expressing joy that she saw her brother in high spirits inside the courtroom which she said the family was not allowed to enter if not for the intervention of their lawyer, Princess Kanu said she has confidence that God will set the director of Radio Biafra free in the next adjourned date.
“I have confidence in what Eze Chukwuokike Abiama (God) will do because He is not a man that He will lie neither is He a man that He can disappoint us or deceive us and because His word is yea and Amen and because He is the one that brought His son out, He will not abandon or leave him that’s what I believe in,” Kanu said.
She said it was a shame the DSS that was supposed to serve and protect the citizen, on the contrary, it is torturing and starving them to death. “My brother was assaulted publicly in the court premises and I’m standing here with an evidence to show the world what is going on the injustice and nepotism that is going on in Nigeria. I’m afraid of my live and that of my family with the way things are going”.
Princess Kanu said it was wrong for the Federal Government to have charged his brother with terrorism, noting that this was the height of tyranny. “Will someone help tell President Muhammadu Buhari that this is a democratic dispensation, not autocratic government where he was the General?
She said charging Nnamdi with terrorism means equating him with Boko Haram members, saying it was the height of injustice and a way to continue in humiliating and assaulting an unarmed civilian which she said was not the right thing to do.

Hunger is the first lesson he needs to learn as Biafra leader when he start his war people will be left hungry he should ask his predecessor. He needs to learn that quickly because he with everybody especially innocent and those not innocent of war will not eat. That is the first and only one of the repercussion of war. Sister, are you not told, tell your brother in prison maybe that will keep him in check.

Princess Chinwe Kanu sounds and reason just like her brother and father by denying the fact that Mr. Kanu Nnamdi is a potential terrorist that should be detain, interogate, and properly monitor by DSS because of his many threats of instigating civil war, civil unrest, and propagating lies and hatred on his illegal radio Biafra. In her words, “I am calling. ……..,and the British Commission to come and rescue their citizen in the hands of the DSS.”, this should serve has a warning to those dumb, senseless and blind followers of Kanu because he doesn’t represents their best interests. Kanu Nnamdi is a foreign citizen whose intention is to make cheap name or fame, enrich himself off the ignorant of millions of dumb Biafran agitators, and to cause violence before flying back to his base in London. I was surprised after discovering that this uncultured, mannerless, dumb hater called Nnamdi has all his family members here in the zoo called Nigeria. If “Eze Chukwuokike Abiama” means God Almighty or Jehovah in Igbo language, He will never deliver evil ones from the punishments they deserve or brought upon themselves due to their evil words, imagination and actions. Why? Our God is love,and those that serve Him must do so in truth and love. He is definitely not an author of hatred, confusion, tribalism, lies propaganda, and evil that Nnamdi represents. The DSS are doing exactly what Britain, the United States, Germany, France, Russian and other security agencies in the world will do to any potential terrorist who is calling for blood shields, tribal conflicts, civil war, civil unrest and terrorism. @ Speaking Drum, there are lot of things you don’t understand about the struggle that Kanu trying to proclaim. Kanu made a huge mistake for leaving his base in United Kingdom to come and lead the struggle movement in Nigeria. I also don’t think Britons will support him for this because this is an act of treason. This guy is a now a British Citizen according to information at hand and he has no right to demean national security of a sovereignty Country like Nigeria. If he is claiming Nigerian citizenship, that make it worst because he will be charged with treasonable offense or terrorism. He can fight and campaign for the Biafra republic if that is what he believed in his UK base but for him to step into Nigerian soil to continue with that campaign means he is fighting Federal Government directly and no Country will ignore any act of terrorism. It also appears that Kanu never brought the rest of Igbo along when he started this struggle, that is why his outreach program will fail. My advise for this young dude is to apologize and go back and re-strategize his plan and also think if it going to work out, otherwise he can only fight from his remote base in UK.

Pk, where were you when Kanu was requesting for guns and bullets? Where were you when he was insulting all Nigerians and calling us zoo animal? Inasmuch we don’t love to be together as one Nigeria that doesn’t mean you should go about your agitations in a negative way. The majority of Nigerians even from his tribes are not in support of his actions because he took the wrong approach. By Gods grace he will come out alive so that you and your parents will warn him in advance. This is a big lesson to all that wants to resort to violence in pressing their demands.
