Oct 5, 2016 – ECOWAS Court Takes Over As Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Sues FG For $800Million, FG Absence Stalls Hearing
IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s $800million lawsuit against the Nigerian Federal Government heared today at the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice.
Justice Micah Wright adjourned the case till November 8 2016 for definite hearing following the absence of the Nigerian Federal Government.
Though Justice Wright declined Kanu’s $800million compensation request, his counsel who opposed the adjournment requested for one million dollar compensation.
Few weeks ago, Kanu sued the FG, the DG of DSS and the Attorney General of the Federation for alleged illegal detention.
He asked for a compensation of 800 million dollars for the violation of his Fundamental Human Right and asked for an unconditional release.
The final hearing will hold on the 8th of November.
