Dec 20, 2014 – Evil Housemaids Go On Killing Spree In Lagos Nigeria, 2 Women Beheaded Weeks Apart

The murder of leading insurance practitioner and lawyer, Mrs. Ola Adeola, who was found dead with her throat slit at Oniru Estate, Lagos on December 14, 2014 has forced the police in the state to step up neighbourhood surveillance.

Adeola is the second victim in two weeks to be found murdered in a gruesome manner in the state.

The first victim was Mrs. Martha Ifewulu, who was murdered at her Oke-Afa, Isolo residence in Lagos on December 1.

Ifewulu’s children found her corpse on a staircase within the house with her throat slit, prompting rumours that she might have been specifically targeted since nothing was stolen from the house.

Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Kenneth Nwosu, told Saturday PUNCH that the developments coupled with the approach of a festive season, had necessitated more surveillance in residential neighbourhoods in the state.

He, however, insisted that violent crimes were not on the increase in Lagos.

Nwosu said, “In the case of the victim at Oniru (Adeola), we have arrested two people in connection with the incident but I cannot reveal details about that yet so as not to jeopardise our investigation.

“We have had to reassess our security planning. You must also note that this is a festive season. These incidents are unfortunate. We have taken steps to increase surveillance in many neighbourhoods.”

Nwosu advised residents to challenge strangers coming into their neighbourhoods so as to assist police officers in their intelligence gathering efforts.

Police should make sure that those culprits are apprehended without fail, otherwise innocents lives are endangered.

When a person with wound on his leg was consuming flies, no one cared. Now that the flies are consuming wound from the person, there is noise all over.
Where was the government and police when all of these so called heartless bosses of house helps were abusing, killing and enslaving them as if they were not giving birth to by human beings who gave birth to them? While i do not condone house help or maids barbaric acts of revenge, i therefore seize this opportunity to crave the indulgence of the government to enact a civil right law that will protect house helps or maids. May be, anyone that wants or has house maid should be registering with the government to be able to avert civil right abuse of these house maids. By so doing, that will also put a stop on housemaid revenge that are resulting into kidnapping of innocent children of their bosses and killings. Wake up Nigerians. I had witnessed the ways house maids were treated in Nigerian houses, it always made me sick to my stomach. These so called housemaid bosses treat them like trash and slaves with bare monthly remunerations as if there will never be tomorrow. I often pray for heavenly punishment for them.
