Meet Saliu Tola, a 53-year-old former army official who voluntarily resigned from service to raise a 4-man kidnap gang terrorizing residents of Delta state.

The suspect arrested in Asaba last week said he doesn’t kidnap any how. He told investigators he was a specialist in abducting wealthy ladies for huge ransom.

Tola who hails from Adamawa state however said his gang members had not killed any of their victims.

He was nabbed when he arranged to collect N1million ransom from the family of a female victim at popular Gabbs Supermarket on Okpanam Road in Asaba when detectives swooped on him.

Delta State Police Commissioner Ibrahim Zanna said the gang usually trail their victims to eateries, supermarkets and schools from where they pounced on them and ferry them away in their waiting car.

He added that Tola would be arraigned once investigation concludes.

  1. Well you still a lucky criminal because there’s no capital punishment in kidnapping. I’m not praying for anyone to be kidnapped but if those kidnappers can just go after the politicians that stealing the money and putting this country into mess the more. They refused to pass a hard capital law that would make anyone thinking about starting a kidnapping criminal business should think twice about if things go wrong at the end
