Genevieve Nnaji Honoured For Bringing Netflix To Nollywood & Showcasing Best Of Igbo Culture

Nigerians from the East have not stopped praising Nollywood actress turned producer, Genevieve Nnaji for bringing Netflix to Nollywood and showcasing rich Igbo culture through her directorial debut, “Lion Heart“.

The film, which debuted on Netflix Friday, centres around a woman who has to step up to help run her father’s company. It became Netflix’s first original film from Nigeria.

The movie, which centers around Eastern region of Nigeria had Nollywood veterans like Pete Edochie, Nkem Owoh, Onyeka Onwenu, Kanayo O Kanayo among others.

Genevieve has since her debut on Friday stirred diverse reactions from Nigerians over the movie.

    I never doubted Genevieve for a second. Her first film on netflicks, “Road to yesterday” was equally gripping. I especually loved the family scene, and just could not help smiling. Thank you to Genevieve and all her cast. Proud to be a nigerian.
