One day, Emeka come meet Ada say him get business proposal wey go benefit both of them. He say, “Ada, I get one business idea wey go make us plenty money. One day, Ada discover say Emeka don run away with all the business money. She feel betrayed, her heart break into pieces. All her savings don vanish, and she no know how she go take care of herself and Chidi. She cry, she pray, but the pain no go away.

Chidi see the pain wey him mama dey go through. He go meet her, he say, “Mama, we go survive this. God dey with us, and we go find way to move on.” Ada hold her son tight, she feel small comfort for his words, but the hurt still dey strong.

Days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months, and Ada struggle to move on. One Sunday, she decide to go church to seek solace. The pastor, Pastor Samuel, preach one powerful sermon about forgiveness. He talk say, “Ephesians 4:32 tell us, ‘Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.’ Forgiveness na key to healing and peace.”

Ada listen to the sermon, she feel the words touch her heart. After service, she go meet Pastor Samuel, she tell am her story. Pastor Samuel listen, he say, “Ada, forgiveness no be say you go forget wetin happen or accept the wrong wey Emeka do. Forgiveness na to free your heart from the burden of hurt and pain. Na to release the anger and bitterness wey dey hold you down.”

Ada think about the pastor words. She realize say the pain and bitterness dey weigh her down. She decide to pray for strength to forgive Emeka. She kneel down, she pray, “God, give me the strength to forgive Emeka. Help me release this pain and find peace again.

As days go by, Ada begin feel small small change for her heart. The pain still dey, but she dey more at peace. She decide to focus on her pikin, Chidi, and find joy in the small things of life. She begin dey smile again, and the villagers notice the change.

One day, as Ada dey waka for market, she see Emeka. Her heart skip a beat, but she feel calm. Emeka see her, he look ashamed. He walk up to her, he say, “Ada, I dey sorry for wetin I do. I know say I don cause you plenty pain. I no fit undo the past, but I beg you, find it in your heart to forgive me.”

Emeka nod, he thank her, and he waka go. Ada feel a weight lift from her shoulders. She realize say forgiveness na gift wey she give herself, a gift of freedom and peace.

From that day, Ada live her life with a lighter heart. She continue to find joy in the small things, to love her pikin, and to trust God for everything. She dey always remember the words for Matthew 6:14-15, “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Her story touch many hearts for the village. People begin see the power of forgiveness and the peace wey e bring. Ada become a beacon of hope and strength, showing others say no matter the hurt, we fit find forgiveness and move on.

My people, this story dey teach us big lesson. Forgiveness no easy, but e dey necessary for our healing and peace. Make we remember say to forgive no mean say we forget or accept the wrong, but na to free our heart from the burden of pain. As Colossians 3:13 talk, “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

No matter the hurt wey you don experience, know say you fit find peace through forgiveness. Pray for strength, focus on the good things for your life, and trust God to heal your heart. As you forgive, you go see say the weight go lift, and you go find joy and peace again.

Thank you for listening to this tori. Until next time, make we dey remember the power of forgiveness, make we dey free our hearts from pain, and make we always trust God to guide us to peace. God bless you all.
