Eyewitness Report Of Recent Visit To Ibinabo Fiberesima At Kirikiri Prison

Fiberesima was brought to the reception in her black jean trousers and dotted long sleeve shirt rolled to the elbow on a pair of jelly slippers. She was full of smile as she welcomed her guests.

No wrinkles, no black spots, her face still as fresh and fair as her days before the ordeal. A bespectacled lady hugged her and behind her glasses flowed painful tears. “No, don’t cry.

As you can see, I’m strong now. You know me na. I have taken everything in good faith,” Fiberesima was said to have interjected. She narrated how a colleague and friend, Patience Ozokwor a.k.a. Mama Gee, had visited earlier. “She broke down here and was crying. She said, IB, you’re a good woman, this shouldn’t be happening to you. I told her that I give God the glory.

The kinds of stories I hear from some inmates here have made me to be grateful in everything.”

“High profile visits have already been carried out to Kirikiri to reassure Ibinabo by over fifty celebrities on Sunday, March 13.” In fact, Chief Zebrudaya of the New Masquerade fame would be visiting tomorrow.

She doesn’t know how the prison food tastes because she doesn’t eat it. They bring her food from home and she just asked some of the friends she’d made there, “where is my food na? I neva chop since.”

Where she lives now, friends bring her consolation; unintentionally, they even make comments that move her to tears as strong as she thinks she has become. The ex-beauty queen is tired of all the strife in the outside world, even the April 7 date to hear her bail application isn’t enough to cheer her.

During one of the visits, she felt so loved and proud. And the overwhelming excitement reflects in her tone, “one NGO even came here and dropped N100,000. I don’t know them. They just came and showed their sympathy.

They said the battle is no longer yours from now, it’s ours,” .

Nollywood Making Desperate Moves To Free Ibinabo Fiberesima From Prison

She ranks today as the most visited person at the facility and that singular feat shapes what manner of treatment she gets from fellow inmates.

Given this knowledge, concerted efforts are being made to access the powers that be in the ruling party. Sources further insist that this explains why a delegation from Nollywood was sent to plead with the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu.

This delegation was to meet the monarch last Wednesday, March 23. Ostensibly, the final destination is Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, believed to be the only man with the wherewithal to calm the storm in Fiberesima’s life.

Will Tinubu be ready to rescue the woman who have said all sort of negative things about his party in the past? That decision only lies with him.

  1. The owners of the NGO that gave u that huge money should be arrested
You killed a person and deserve a life sentence modafoka

    • COME ON, IS SHE THE ONLY PERSON THAT HAS KILLED SOMEBODY VIA ACCIDENT?
LAGOS STATE, IN SHORT SHE IS BEING PERSECUTED COS SHE IS NOT A YORUBA, PERIOD.
      LET’S CALL A SPADE A SPADE.
TALKING OF SENDING DELEGATES TO OBA OF LAGOS, WHO IS OBA OF LAGOS? WHO IS HE?
U MEAN D CEREMONIAL OBA? A MAN THAT CAN NOT THINK BEFORE VOMITTING TRASH?
I DON’T SEE THAT TOUT AS OBA, PERIOD.

  2. I DON’T GET IT.THIS COUNTRY IS MESSED UP,SHE’S NOT EATING THEIR FOOD AND SHES STILL MAKING MONEY WHILE IN THERE. I THOUGHT IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A CORRECTIONAL INSTITUE

    • Remember growing up in the ’80s and ’90s when we heard stories like this happening in American prison, we praised America for this type of freedom. Arent you supposed to be happy for a “developing” Nigeria?.

My point is, American prisoners still get paid despite in prison. And yes, family member may bring food randomly for their loved ones under very restricted condition. They can also give money to inmate to buy things in prison. Similar thing we read in this situation yet you complain?.

Well, this lady is not special; therefore, she should be treated like other inmates. Although death incident might happened unintentionally. I do not support the idea of sending delegates to beg Tinubu or Oba. That’s rubbish. Let the Law takes it cause. If there is any objection or concern she should simply get her attorney and file petition.

  3. Let’s see how this plays out. I guess madam is becoming very confident now that she’s going to be out without serving the term because clearly she is happy and enjoying the attention and drama. Receiving visitors, not eating inmates food, enjoying special favours etc. Not long ago, it was sob stories including the story of her ‘cancer’. Justice should prevail. I didn’t know that if someone is convicted of a crime and sentenced, they could ‘beg’ certain people and the sentence would be overturned. Anyway, let the show begin!

  4. What i dont really understand here is, what in Heaven‘s name is so special about this proud woman that some shallow thinkers are craving to set her free from the repercusion of her action of manslaughter and pride.

For crying out loud, Ibinabo is not the only notable personality that has ever been jailed in this country. Is she greater than, Obasanjo, MKO Abiola, Fela etc…?

What importance is she to the society than Dr. Giwa whom she killed due to her recklessness.
And when the did was done, instead of her to be remorseful, repentant, humble and apologetic to the family and members of the public, she chose to remain sturbborn, obstinate, and even threatning to drag the family to the Supreme court when she was the one responsible for the death of their son, father, husband and breadwinner.
And here some folks are clamouring for her release, for what i I may ask?

What is her being in the prison causing them?

Kai… I don vex ma sef, i don go.

  5. I pray the family of the late doctor should forgive her for the fact that she didn’t kill him deliberately but was an accident we just have to learn how to forgive

  6. She wants to leave by all means and she thinks all this publicity will do the magic. I pity her though .

  7. You killed a man, five years is nothing…just serve your term in peace, your family members and friends have the opportunity to visit while u are in there. The man you killed is gone and gone forever. Make it easier for his family to bear pains.*madam serve ur term.

  8. 9. what happened to Ibi can happen to anybody. The killing was an accident and not an intentional act. I don’t get it why some people sound as if she intentionally killed the man.We should have a forgiving heart because even if she is given a life sentence, it will not resurrect the man.

  11. Well, Ibinabo’s case teaches the rest of us enjoying our freedom that we should be extra catious with all we do, not to fall foul of the law. The laws are more stringent and ruthless with people who are surposed to shape public good behaviour but tend to be careless and choose to flaut the condunt of decent public behaviour. Though Ibinabo’s case is unfortunate however it teaches a vital lesson of life. Wish her well anyway.

  13. Oba Rilwan Akinolu and Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu will lose their respect and jeopardize their positions in the society if they act unlawfully to free unrepentant, arrogant, and wicked murderer from prison. Only in Nigeria that this kind of nonsense and craziness is possible because money, fame, power, and connection or influence override justice against the poor, voiceless, and powerless individuals. Anywhere in the world, if someone has been sentence to prison for committing a crime, there is no political power that can reverse such sentence. Running from pole to poles to invade justice again shows the characters of Ms. Ibinabo. Nigerian people are watching all over the world to see how this Nollywood star will once again use her political connection to invade Nigerian justice system. The widow, parents and those fatherless children of Dr. Giwa are also watching.

  14. Ibi ,if God save u and give u second chance, close ur mouth from Politics, never go for any part,is very bad business.Am sure Tinubu is not bad man, is very Gud and Godly person ,who respect women,he will forgive u and bring u out for ur kids, dont giveup life, u are young, and ur kids are so young.we all make mistake, and accident we dont pray for it, it can happen to anybody driveing car.

  15. Wen d court has declare..one minister or king out dere hv wot it takes 2 free d person…welcome 2 naija

  16. If these nollywood delegates manage to pull the powers that be to bring out Ibinabo, then be it known to the world that the family of that Dr Giwa has been denied justice. This is going to be salt upon injury if they just reprieve an already concluded sentence like that.
