March 13, 2016 – Jailed Nollywood Actress Ibinabo Fiberesima’s Footballer Son, Sean Defends Her, Says Mother Is Heartbroken

Open Letter To Nigerians From Ibinabo Fiberesima’s Son

This is Sean, first and proud son of Ibinabo Fiberesima, I write on here today to plead with all Nigerians to pray for my mother.

She is going through the toughest of times right now, and so are we, her family. I’ve been reading heartbreaking comments on her matter that ‘she thinks she’s above the law’, ‘she doesn’t feel sorry for the family of the deceased’, ‘she was drunk and deserves this punishment’, let me get a few things straight with you now.

My mother is the most humble woman I know, I was not aware she was a celebrity until I was about 14 and that’s only because my uncle told me, she does not see herself or act as if she is above any other person. She is a proud Nigerian who loves her country and its people.
Secondly, she has been carrying heartbreak around with her for the past 11 years after the accident.

She understands the pain for the deceased family and is very hurt about what happened herself. She has tried her utter most to console with the Family, so don’t ever think she does not care.

Thirdly she was not drunk, the charges are reckless and dangerous driving, first of all I refuse to believe my mother was driving recklessly or dangerous, as I’ve been in a car with her countless times and nothing has happened. On this occasion it was unfortunate, she was unlucky, her car flipped over which happens to a number of cars and another car smashed into her. She was in a comma for days, she could have easily lost her life, but thankfully, by Gods strength only she survived. She did not set out that day trying to kill someone or herself.

Right now my mother is broken, and needs the prayer and support of all Nigerians, so please put all your conspiracies about this matter aside, I know it’s between her and God now.

Join us, myself, Craig her son who is 14, Malcolm and Brian her other sons and her beautiful Daughter Zino who is just 8, and the rest of her family, to pray for her.

    @ Sean(Ibinabo’son),
As much as I empathise with you as the son of Ibinabo;I do not agree with your actions of trying to potray your mother as an “Angel”!.You and your family need to RESPECT and understand the way the law works..NOBODY, I REPEAT, NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW!

What your mother (Ibinabo) did to Dr GIWA and his family was/is really despicable ;your mother was found drunk at the wheels of a vehicle which culminated into the death of an innocent member of the public (Dr GIWA).

Your mother has only been sentenced to 60 months imprisonment ..but the children and wife of the late Dr GIWA ,that was killed by your mother, have been given life imprisonment by the actions of your mother(Ibinabo).

Sean,I dont think its in your place to ask for sympathy here, nor is it appropriate for you to be doing so;rather its the children of Dr GIWA who ought to be begging Nigerians to support them for living and growing up without their father.

    R.I.P to GIWA Suraj.

true talk, I don’t know what prayers they are asking for or is it because we are in Nigeria where people feel they are above the law. celebrity indeed.

10/10@Conscience-1. This must be a very trying time for Ibinabo’s family. But it had been even tougher for that late Doctor’s. Ibinabo has to quietly bear this, and take it up as penance, as it were, to purify herself.

This is why it is wise to settle cases outside of court. The chances that IB had missed keep glaring at me. May everyone of us learn what lesson that is presented in this!

What can you say about the man family that your mum took their Joy from. Anyway try to put your self in the shoe of that family without a father.

Hmmm, People are just heartless. u guys should just allow this little boy. We are still living, just pray the devil dont set u up through evil people around u. This woman never bagained for this, hey- do u guys expect this boy to curse his mother? He never said he is happy about what happened too. U may also have hurt people u know, simply bcos no lve was lost doesnt make u perfect. Ur not saints so keep ur prayers if u find his request annoying but please respect this boys emotions cos his MOTHER is the one in question, they have a bond and he is sharing in the pains of this woman. NO one is above mistakes and humans including u all will also try to pervert justice too if ur involved.

I sympathise with the family of the late Dr Giwa, i plead with the family to forgive Ibinabo bearing in mind that 200yrs jail term will not restore the dead, it may even agreavate it cos it reminds u of the gap, the personality and renews the pains. i feel ur pains but God knows y it has to be the Doc and y it happened at all. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

And to u my dear young son, continue to pray for ur mum, she will be fine and come out strong at the end if Christ tarries. IT IS WELL

To kill someone no be joke ooo,by accident or not. The best thing for her is to finish her sentence jeje, do not ask for mercy. After serving your prison term trust God you will feel much better spriritually. If you are able to repent and believe completely in Jesus as your saviour things will be far better for you as it has ever been. The years will fly pass quickly and it will also give the doctor’s family sense of “justice done” and enable them to move on. May God be with you
