Jehovah Witness Church Members In Nigeria Banned From Voting, Leaders Say Election Is Satanic

Jan 30, 2015 – Jehovah Witness Church Members In Nigeria Banned From Voting, Leaders Says Election Is Satanic

As Nigerians prepare to elect new leaders that will run the affairs of the country in the next four years, members of Jehovah’s Witness have been banned from participating in the electoral process and by implication, they are forbidden from voting for any candidate or contesting in any election.

They claimed that participating in an election was satanic and contrary to God’s commandment.

Findings revealed that members of Jehovah’s Witness were warned not to obtain voter’s cards and that they should not vote during the elections.

The directive was not a mere order as any member found participating or voting during the elections will be excommunicated.

When our reporter spoke to some of the members who confirmed the directive, they claimed that the order was right because they are still waiting for the kingdom of God that is yet to be establshed on earth.

A minister in the congregation, James Uduok, explained that every member of Jehovah’s Witness knows that participating in election is satanic and contrary to the will of God.

Uduok said that the teaching of the Witness was strongly embedded in the Bible and all members must adhere strictly to the teaching or leave the congregation.

The members defended their decision not to vote or get involved in the electoral process by quoting Mathew 6: 9 and Mathew 4: 8.

Mathew 6: 9 says: “This is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven may your holy name be honoured. May your kingdom come.”

To members of Jehovah’s Witness, this scripture implies that the kingdom of God has not come and they are still waiting for it to come.

Also, Mathew 4: 8 is a scripture that dwells on how the devil took Jesus to a high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and promised to give them to Him if He bowed down and worshipped him. Members of Jehovah’s Witness claim that this world belongs to satan and insist that God’s kingdom has not yet come.

When our reporter sought the views of non members, especially pastors, their response was contrary to the teaching of the Witnesses.

Pastor Jude Chukwurah noted that their belief was strange because the same Bible mandated Christians to respect constituted authority.

“God recognises leadership and authority of leaders in the society,” he said.

Chukwurah said even in ages past, there was clamour for leaders as reported in the Bible and the people elected their leaders.

Another pastor, Michael James, said the Witnesses are misinterpreting the Bible and should be ignored.

He warned that their belief was not consistent with biblical teaching, adding that if such teaching is followed it could lead their members to imbibe false doctrine that could lead them to hell.

Why not call it what it’s?. Aren’t they Christians and following Bible?. If article had they are muslims you would be calling them extremists obeying and following Qur’an, isn’t?

They (Jehovah) have their reason for what they believe. Just because you don’t agree with them doesn’t make them occult. It’s their freedom to choose not to participate in election process.

This is funny. You wanted him to be your best man at your wedding (to be your witness) he refused saying that he is a witness. Maybe one day they will say wedding is not a thing of God.

Yes Jehavoa witiness is very very right in their decission, Jesus said that his kingdom is not part of this world, he also said who ever wanted to be a friend of this world is making himself the enemy of God, this worldly Government is controled by Satan the devil and his demons,The book of Reveltion said that who ever is having a relation with this wild beast type of Government is actually working against the Heavenly kingdom.the book of Dainel said that God will wipe out these present demonic kingdom and He will set one Heavenly Kingdom that will slove the problem of the whole mankind.

I know that some pastors will not agree, because they are only working for their stomach,no real man of God will paticipate in any worldly kingdom ruleing, blood letting Government, cultist, muderes, blood suckers, killers of innocent children and the widows,by the way Nigeria have freedom of worship.

@James, what you are saying now is that believers should not involved in choosing who to rule them in a nation where they find themselves? Remember that the Bible say we should respect & pray for pple in authority. So, if you don’t participate in choosing the right person, them you ll continue praying and honour the evil ones in authority. Righteousness exalt a nation, there’s nothing bad in it in joining other to elect God faring or Man of God in position.

True Christians abstain from the world’s political affairs. Just like the 1st & 2nd century Christians, and those faithful apostles of Christ, they stay away from politics and all forms of ungodliness. If Christ is to come visit the world today, do you think he will be pleased with politicians and the so called Christians? Please leave Jehovah’s Witnesses alone. Their main focus is the Kingdom of God, which Jesus will rule as king, giving eternal life to his true followers. Stop spreading falsehood. Fear God.

In my opinion (I stand to be corrected) -I encourage Christians to vote in order to be able to choose leaders who will themselves be led by our Creator. The bible says in; (1 Samuel 12:13-25)- “And now behold the king whom you have chosen, for whom you have asked; behold, the LORD has set a king over you”.
Christians should vote as led through prayer and study of both God’s Word and the realities of the choices on the ballot. Christians in the North of Nigeria are being oppressed and persecuted daily via the hands of Boko Haram. They suffer under governments they are powerless to change and, from unscrupulous thugs; like the Boko Haram sect who hate their faith and silence their voices. Thus believers/Christians, who preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, are often at risk of their own lives. We can see these already happening in the North, no thanks, to Boko Haram and their fanatical thugs.
These fanatical thugs (Boko Haram) want to drive the name and message of Christ completely out of the public arena in Nigeria. Voting is an opportunity to promote, protect, and preserve Godly government. Hence missing such an opportunity means letting those who would denigrate the name of Christ have their way in our lives. Our votes influence the type of leaders we elect. This thus greatly impacts on our freedoms.

It is thus the duty and responsibility of every Christian to vote for leaders who promote Godly principles towards all Nigerians. God is most certainly in control, but that does not mean we should do nothing to further his will. God will only help those who turn to him. We are thus commanded to pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-4)-“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, Godly and dignified in every way”.

The Scriptures also gives Christians instructions to obey legitimate authority unless it contradicts the Lord’s commands (Acts 5:27-29;).

As for those Christians who have chosen not to vote -through ignorance or by their own error of omission. Please, I repeat please, do not ask God, to come down to save you when the going gets tough-because you had the opportunity to choose your leader but decided not to make use of the opportunity.

I’m confused about d feeling I hav 4 diz ppl. Somtyms it is pity. Somtyms it is sheer sorrow. Som oda times it ranges from anger 2 somthn in d neighbourhood of hatred.

Let’s b realistic. U dnt vote cos d devil owns d kingdom. But hav u quit ur job? Dnt u knw dat working in d devil’s kingdom promotes his kingdom on ur account? God should d/4 bring u2 judgment 4 being a teacher, doctor, trader or a worker in any oda aspect of human endevour. Or y not? Y would God absolve u frm punishment wen u work & help d devil 2 strengthen his kingdom, but condemn u wen u simply vote dat things might b beta in ur coun3?

Wat I hav 2say about dis issue is trying 2 burst my bowels. But suffice it 2say here dat Jehovah’s Witnesses worship a diffrnt god frm d Christian God. D god they worship did not hav d foreknowledge of Adam’s fall. He did not know dat Adam would eat d fruit. If u doubt dis, ask dem.

If God did not knw b4hand dat Adam would disobey Him, it den means dat God doz not knw evrthn. In oda words, God is not omniscient!

But I’m glad dat my God knew b4 he made man dat man would fall. My God is Omniscient. D JW god iznt. It is sin against their god 2 particip8 in an election. But my God looks deepa & searches d heart.

Do you remember how Jesus reacted when certain men, recognizing his miraculous powers, tried to get him to rule over them? We read in the Bible: “Therefore Jesus, knowing they were about to come and seize him to make him king, withdrew again into the mountain all alone.” (John 6:15) In spite of the fact that Jesus had the power to benefit mankind greatly, he refused to become a political leader. Why? Because he knew that God’s kingdom was, not earthly, but heavenly.
What is the Biblical view of Christians agitating for political issues? In prayer, Jesus Christ said concerning his true followers: “They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.” (John 17:16) When questioned about his possessing kingly authority, Jesus replied to the Roman governor Pontius Pilate: “My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source.”—John 18:36.
if you will not follow this principle, you cant be part of God. you cant support satan’s world at the same time God’s kingdom. Search your heart very well

Matthew {28:18} “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” this was before He left fore heaven.
Romans {13:1} Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. {13:2} Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. {13:3} For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: {13:4} For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil. {13:5} Wherefore [ye] must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. {13:6} For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. {13:7} Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due;] custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Rather than urging his followers to get involved in civil-rights movements and other political activities, Jesus taught them to pray: “Our Father in the heavens, . . . Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.” (Matt. 6:9, 10) According to the Bible, that heavenly kingdom will soon “crush and put an end to all these [present earthly] kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite.” (Dan. 2:44) Hence, it is not man, but God, who will act to rid the earth of social injustice and all other woes.
The Gentile Christians were strangers, aliens, and exiles in this world away from their true homeland, which was with the Lord in heaven. They were foreigners in a land and world to which they did not belong. They were in the world but not a part of the world, for their true citizenship was in heaven, as Paul also told the Philippians (cf. Philippians 3:20). For these reasons Jesus disciples will be object of hatred (John 17:14-16) in fulfillment of bible prophecy. No problem if people hate us. We are only upholding God commend as true christian.

I know a lot o peeps who are not participating in the elections, so why are your sentiments directed to Jehovah’s Witnesses alone?. Even God himself has created each human as a free agent.

Whoever wrote this piece is misinformed and/or trying to spite witnesses.

    1. Jehovah’s witnesses received no such directive. They don’t need to be so directed. Their individual decisions are based on their Bible beliefs but they NEVER EVER compel even their members to obey. Obedience is individual, based on personal conviction.

    2. Contrary to what this article suggests, Collection of pvc itself is not deemed as satanic. Several of my Jehovah’s witness friends have pvc. They were not mandated to Not collect it. Even if for nothing, they use it for identification purposes, besides, even many a non-witnesses with pvc already plan not to vote so what’s the big deal.

Mind you, Jehovah’s witnesses don’t have pastors or Bishops like other churches, so if anyone suggests that a certain ‘Jehovah’s witness pastor’ said anything…. It’s bullshit. Get a better story!!!
