Lagos State Health Monitoring & Accreditation Agency Officials have shut down fifteen illegal hospitals and clinics across the state for various law-related offences. naijagists.com

According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Doctor Jide Idris, this is a bid to eliminate bogus and unregistered clinics in line with Lagos State’s health sector Reform Law of 2006.

The offences of the affected hospitals includes:

  •  Lack of qualified personnel
  • Poor facilities
  • Unhygienic environment
  • Quackery
  • Unofficial training of auxiliary nurses
  • Existence of living room within their facilities
  • Non-registration of the facilities with the agency.

Illegal Hospitals / Clinics Closed Down By Lagos Government

The affected hospitals are:

  1. St. Daniel Hospital
  2. Oluwaseun King Maternity Centre
  3. Oluwadimimu Maternity Home
  4. UDYP Christian Hospital
  5. Mount Zion Maternity Centre
  6. Above Medical Centre
  7. The Saint Medical Diagnostics Centre
  8. Kaff-Salam Maternity Home
  9. Gbayi Clinic and Maternity Home
  10. Iya Deborah Maternity Hospital
  11. And five others

The commissioner said the facilities would stay closed until all the compulsory requirements are met.

    I wonder why it took them this long to do this, i know of a whole lot of this so called hospital around oworo and new garage in lagos here that had claim a whole lot of pregnant women looking for cheap medical facilities life. how I wish the full list and their environ were reavealed.
