Chaos As Man Kills Co-worker In Ojuelegba Lagos
Nyagh Isaiah, a 35-year-old man, has been remanded by a Yaba Magistrates’ Court on the grounds of the alleged murder of his co-worker, Kingsley Kator in Lagos. According to the prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, the incident occurred around 1pm on April 9, 2023, in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos State. The defendant is being charged with one count of murder, as the deceased was reportedly stabbed to death with a broken bottle during a fight between the two co-workers.
The charge read,
“That you, Nyagh Isaiah, on April 9, 2023, around 1 pm, at the Ojuelegba area of Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District did unlawfully kill one Kingsley Kator, aged 27 years by stabbing him to death with a broken bottle and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.”
During the hearing, the defendant’s plea was not taken, and the prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in custody at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre, pending the issuance of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution’s office. Magistrate P.E. Nwaka, who presided over the case, granted the prosecutor’s request and adjourned the case until May 25, 2023, for trial.
The incident highlights the importance of conflict resolution and the need to avoid violent altercations that can lead to loss of lives. It is essential for individuals to embrace peaceful and non-violent means of settling disputes, especially in the workplace, to prevent such tragic occurrences.
