September 16, 2016 – “My Husband Gives Me & Our Children 200 Naira As Daily Feeding Allowance” – Woman Tells Court

A housewife, Toyin Adeola, has told an Akure Customary Court that her husband, Kayode, gives her N200 as daily upkeep allowance for the family of four.

Toyin made the disclosure when she testified in her divorce proceeding where she begged the court to dissolve her eight -year-old marriage to her husband, Kayode, for alleged desertion for a year.

She told the court that she had stopped having sexual intercourse with her husband because of his waywardness.

The petitioner said “the irresponsible nature of her husband’ made the respondent to abandon his matrimonial home without showing kindness to his family.
Kayode denied all the allegations and said that he left his family because of his wife’s persistent promiscuity.

“I have caught my wife twice sitting on the lap of another man,” Kayode said.
Ruling on the case, the President of the court, Chief Rotimi Olusanya, urged the two parties to maintain peace.

Olusanya said that they should make themselves available to their families for amicable settlement of their rift.

He ordered the defendant to take care of the two children of the family and adjourned the case till Sept. 26.

  1. Promiscuity versus waywardness is equal to Chaos! It is the children of the marriage that suffer as a result of their parents’s action and as ordered by the court It is better to give the couple’s families some time to wade into the matter and reason with them . Perhaps they will reach an amicable solution.

  2. 200 naira?
    In which world ?
Please let them both find their ways and a written agreement from both on how to bring up the kids before one of drop dead.
The kids will understand when they get older.

They’re still playing the he did, she did game like our politicians. But one full year without sex and you’re not sick, but still married ? You gonna be kidding me guys.
C’mon people.the spark is gone, the trust dead.
Lucky to both of you over grown babies masquerading as parents.

  3. When I read about what‘s happening in people marriage, it makes me jitter.

I was always thinking that It is smart and more honourable to remain single and be happy than being in an abusive relationship.

People ought to know and understand that, there is a great difference between marriage and wedding.

The invitaion of friends and wellwisher to come witness the ceremonial even between a man and a woman who plan to live together till death do them part is wedding.

Marriage is the practical aspect of all what you professed to your spouse before wedding. The live after that.
Unfortunately, many who weded did not prepare for marriage.
Hence their marriage cannot stand the test of time. Therefore, seperation become the easy way out.

    Proper preparations prevents poor performance.
When we prepare well before wedding, we shall enjoy our marriage.
    THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER.

    I take a stroll…

  4. You’ve said it all #D_Hunter. Marriage is like an exam, and I keep asking myself how one could start preparing for exams a day before d exams starts and u expext to write well and pass when u don’t attend lectures, read ur books or even do some research online? It’s impossicant

  5. SPECIAL ACKNOLEDGEMENT TO B.A. KOKS! I DON’T think that this marriage is beyond salvage. The main problem here is the N200 that the man gives his wife for upkeep. And I believe it’s because he had seen her on the laps of another man, hense he’s indirectly telling her to complete the money from those other men. Since no physical assault has been reported, they could still iron out things like responsible adults.
