Soul E Baba, a former secular musician-turned-pastor, has criticized contemporary women’s way of addressing their partners. The General Overseer of New Evidence Christian Church of God, also known as The Evidence Place, stated that calling one’s husband or boyfriend baby, love, honey, pumpkin, and other similar terms is unscriptural and purely demonic.

He argued that this behavior was the reason why many men behave like babies, which was a fulfillment of the prophecies of their partners.

The religious leader advised women to follow the example of Sarah from the Bible and use “My lord” when addressing their significant other, instead of using terms like baby, love, honey, and pumpkin, which he considers unscriptural and demonic. He claimed that doing so would have a remarkably positive impact on their lives.

Okose claimed that by calling one’s partner “baby,” they are prophesying them to act like a baby, while “lord” implies responsibility and providing for the needs of one’s partner.
