Sept 11, 2012 – 5000 Naira Note Printed Abroad, Shipped To Nigeria Ahead Of Circulation

To those who are not aware, the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) really means business when it comes to the proposed N5000 note.

According credible sources, 5000 Naira notes have been printed abroad and shipped to Nigeria for circulation ahead of the proposed March 2013.

As at today, CBN has acknowledged the printing. CBN claims it’s just the design and not the original bill which is set to come into effect in March 2013

“Whatever anybody saw is the design of the proposed currency not the real currency.

“Before introducing any currency, you have to print a design copy for the monetary authorities to vet and look at the features to ensure they meet security specifications and every other feature in it,” said anonymous CBN Official

5000 naira note is not our problem Malam sanusi and our dear president. We do not have electricity, no good roads, no water, infact nothing and u r imposing 5000 note on us.If I want to write on this, this page will not contain it. but mr president u have disappointed the nigerian citizens that voted you into power. Ur administration is becoming the worst in Nigeria history. We say we don’t want the 5000 why are you imposing it on us?
