Dozens of sympathizers during the week gathered at the No 19b Old Hospital Rd,Onitsha residence of parents of the ill fated baby born without anus and genitals to commiserate with them on the sudden death of their baby.

The couple Mr and Mrs Charles and Uchenna Ibeh wept helplessly as the baby defied medications after several attempts to save her life even as doctors were said to be at a loss on what to.

It would be recalled that soon after the baby was delivered in a private hospital at Onitsha, it was discovered that the intestines had developed on the surface of the abdomen while the anus and genitals were no where to be seen.

The couple was subsequently referred to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital Nnewi where doctors repositioned the exposed abdomen and perforated part of the abdomen where urine and other body waste were eliminated.

Due to inability to of the couple to settle the huge financial bill, they were discharged by the hospital management pending when further tests would be carried out to determine the next line of action.

The situation turned to worse when the indigent couple failed woefully to attract meaningful financial help from sympathisers following several appeals on the social media and local press with contact phone No 08037773562 and Diamond Bank Acct No 0024514276.

As a result, the condition of the baby deteriorated so much that she died out of complications.

Sometime in the past weeks, mother of the baby had taken her to a Catholic Church where she was baptized.

As at press time, the couple was making frantic arrangement to a public cemetery outside Onitsha as it said that public cemeteries in Onitsha have been sold and converted to residential homes.
