Shan George Tackles Nigerian Doctors Who Go To Church On Sundays
December 10, 2017 – My New Movie Addresses Nigerian Doctors Who Go To Church On Sundays – Shan George
Nollywood actress Shan George has revealed why she takes time off acting frequently.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, the mother of two said her mother fell ill, as the only child, she could not forsake her and concentrate on acting.
“I’ve spent the last six years in different hospitals, taking care of my aged mother, who is bedridden. I’m her only child. She is now better and I’m working now.”
On her recently premiered movie, Grey Shadows, the actress said;
“We have done our best to put out a good material for people to see and learn from. But being a commercial success is in the people’s hands. If they love the movie, it will surely be a commercial success.
“The movie is a true life situation that has happened to more than 80 per cent of Nigerians and everyone can relate to it. In Nigeria, we take things for granted. I don’t understand why in some hospitals, we don’t have doctors on duty on Sundays because they need to go to church or attend to other activities. What happens if one is seriously ill? This is what the movie tries to address.”

IT’S SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY WILL RATHER GO PRAY TO THEIR IMAGINARY SKY DADDY INSTEAD OF FULFILLING THEIR OATH OF SAVING LIVES…

Senseless assumption that people will fall seriously ill on Sunday. Are Christians the only doctors in the world? Don’t they work shifts? Like, are you for real?
Those week days that doctors work, don’t people fall seriously ill and die? I ask you. The simple solution is for hospitals to have chapels where doctors and patients can worship on Sundays and still do their work, like it obtains in the western world
I’d rather do the work of my Father in heaven, that is, worship Him than do the work of men. There’s time for everything. So because of the oath of Hippocrates, when it’s time to rest, go on a vacation and spend time with my family, I shouldn’t?

ON POINT.HOSPITALS HAVE DIFFERENT SHIFTS AND I BELIEVE IN THIS CASE,ITS A GOVT HOSPITAL WHETHER LOCAL,STATE OR TEACHING HOSPITALS.JUST LIKE ORTHOPAEDIC HOSP..WE HAVE DIFF SHIFTS,SOME CHRISTIANS WORK SUNDAYS AND MORE SO A MUSLIM MEDICAL PRACTITIONER WOULD RATHER WORK SUNDAYS SINCE THEIR RELIGIOUS SERVICE FALLS ON FRIDAY ,JUST LIKE A SABBATH DEVOTEE WOULD TAKE SATURDAY OFF TO OBSERVE HIS/HER RELIGIOUS OBLIGATION.ITS ALL ABOUT SHIFT MANAGEMENT AND ADHERENCE .IT HAS NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE UNLESS THEY HAVE A LEADERSHIP FAILURE FROM THE TOP.ON CALL DOCTORS ARE EVEN ON THE SYSTEM .WE MAY BE SLOW AND CARELESS IN HEALTHCARE BUT SOME ACTIONS/INACTIONS VARY FROM LOCATION TO LOCATION.

Nonsense! Sometimes some folks look intelligent without opening their mouths! How do you expect them to work seven days without a rest? Does it make any sense telling your patients that they need to rest more and you the doctor is restless? Make movie about our leader’s unpatriotic mentality not about people that are trying their best.

Ever heard of SCHEDULES? Ever heard of SELF CARE where a Therapist has to be well to be able to properly and appropriately take care of his/her patients? Go check those out! Even machines break down when they are overused much less human beings. Are Doctors not human beings? They should not take breaks because some people would be ill on Sundays? Shan George, I think this is your first movie and if what you said is the story line, I am not sure it would be very interesting or worth watching. Anyway hope you recoup your production money at least even if you don’t make profit.

why are so many Nigerians brainwashed by religion? No one is asking doctors to be atheist but when you are on duty on Sunday, be there to save life cuz people fall ill anytime… been on duty on Sunday doesn’t mean he worked all day, all week… that’s why they have OFF.
