April 1st, 2015 – New Nigerian President Elect Buhari, A New Dawn For Nigeria By Adele

As some celebrate and others whine over the emergence of a new President, let us take into cognizance the telling fact that we cannot build nor have a better Nigeria except we synergize to work in coalition.

Let us drop this annihilative mindset that was instilled upon us by our colonial master’s. A destructive perception that makes us feel that the Hausa’s, Igbo’s, Yoruba’s, Ijaw’s, Ikwerre’s etc. cannot coalesce and build an enormous level of trust and love amongst themselves.

That we the elements and tribes of Nigeria are not and cannot be one. But rather, let us understand that our only Hope of leaving a Sustainable Nation for our future generations is by integrating and synergizing our abilities to build this country and see it attain greater heights.

Let us drop our partisanships and realize that violence and tribalism will only mare and stillbornize our Nation. But virtues like harmonized love, unity, trust and support for our new President and coming Governor’s is what we need to prove our doubter’s wrong and excel as a nation.

In spite of the pandemonium and mayhem that has been falsely predicted to erupt in our Nation if the incumbent President does not win the elections’, Let us take the positives from the road that led to the success of Muhammadu Buhari as our new President elect.

Let us take into cognizance the high level of Perseverance, Persistence, Definiteness of Purpose, Determination and Unrelentlessness exuded by Him that paved the way for the achievement of His desired dream after failing on three (3) occasions.

Let us imitate and instill such virtues into our lives as individuals and collectively as a Nation.

Conclusively, I will task all patriotic and well meaning Nigerians mostly you who is saddled with the opportunity to read this article to make a Pledge.

A Pledge that will define the proliferation rate of our Nation.
A Pledge that will define the position of our Nation amongst Nations of the international community.
A pledge that will define the perception of foreigner’s towards us.
Let this Pledge be that
We will not let the Labors of our Hero’s past be in vain.
We will serve our Nation with our whole Heart and Might.
And we will defend our Unity, Democracy and uphold Her Honor and Glory.

To the author I salute you-I could not have agreed with you more -that we Nigerians, need to change our mind-set from tribalism and our bigoted ethnical affiliations .We should start seeing ourselves first as; Nigerians, before our tribes or ethnic affiliations.
