Feb 23, 2017 – Nigerian Soldier Jailed For Attacking Nollywood Actress Ebere Ohakwe
The power hungry soldier who attacked a Nollywood actress few weeks ago has been jailed.
According to the spokesperson for the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt, Colonel Aminu Iliyasu, Private Suleiman Olamilekan is currently serving 28 days imprisonment with hard labour for indiscipline and disobedience to both civilian and military laws.
He urged Nigerians to report any misconduct from army officers to the military on time in order to take proper disciplinary measures.
The actress was travelling to Onitsha from Port Harcourt on the 30th of January 2017 when Olamilekan attacked her for allegedly insulting him.
Ohakwe who sustained bruises all over her body was admitted to a hospital after the assault that took place at Omagwa Checkpoint along Port Harcourt-Owerri road in Rivers state.
She immediately took to social media to plead for justice with photo evidence.

he got lesser sentence which is nothing compare to what he did to the poor and defenseless girl. he is lucky the girl came from Christian family if it was all those witches he would ahve paid with his life for doing that.

Good. Now for step two. Sue him for damages so his miserable salary is used to pay your medical bills.

If this info is true that soldiers can face the law for once, then am the happiest person in Nigeria cos they feel they are on top of the world, punishing n embarrassing pple at will,as if someone forced them to join the millitary. Imagine one of them saying they have the right to to break, kill n illtreat civillians as they wish. God bless tthe law for this.

Gradually sanity is coming back into our system. She should not allow any sentiment in her case as she seems to have one, but to sue the nonentity and the Nigerian Army as co-defendant to seek compensation as he was in Army uniform when he committed the cowardice act. A military man in uniform causing actual bodily harm to a civilian and a lady for that matter. The army needs to send out strong ethical message to all would be thug soldiers roaming the streets and venting their economic frustration on innocent and defenceless citizens.
