Nollywood Beauty Queen Adunni Ade Praises Ramsey Nouah For First Movie Role

Nollywood star Adunni Ade recently opened up about her admiration for veteran actor Ramsey Nouah and how his influence significantly impacted her decision to move back to Nigeria and pursue a career in Nollywood. During a candid interview on Hip TV’s Trending, hosted by reality star KimOprah, Ade shared how a conversation with Nouah helped guide her path away from her modeling career in the United States and into the world of acting.

Adunni, known for her versatility across both Yoruba and English-language Nollywood films, recalled her first encounter with Nouah before she made the life-changing decision to relocate to Nigeria. “He was the one who gave me the confirmation I needed to move to Nigeria,” she said, her voice filled with admiration. “I met him before coming to Nigeria, and I shared my goals and aspirations with him. He gave me a very motivational pep talk, and that was all I needed to make the move.”

For Ade, Nouah was more than just a talented actor; he was someone whose words carried significant weight. His encouragement pushed her to make the bold leap from the United States back to her homeland, where she had dreams of carving out a space for herself in Nollywood. “Imagine from 2011, after all that inspiration, never getting to work with him,” she continued. “He’s someone I’ve admired for years. Then, one day during a film festival, I ran into him again and went to say hello as usual.”

What happened next took her completely by surprise. Adunni vividly recalled receiving an unexpected phone call the following day from Chris, a producer and close friend of Nouah. “Chris called me and said, ‘Adunni, what did you give Ramsey to eat? Ramsey just cast you.’ I had goosebumps,” she revealed with a laugh. “I couldn’t believe it. After all that time, I was finally going to work with someone I had admired from afar. It was such a full-circle moment for me.”

The admiration Ade has for Nouah is rooted not just in his acting prowess, but also in his work ethic, his humility, and his ability to seamlessly transition between roles in the industry. “Working with Ramsey is a dream come true,” she said, her voice filled with excitement. “He’s so different when he’s working. You see Ramsey the human being, Ramsey the director, and Ramsey the co-actor. He’s a phenomenal person in every sense.”

Their professional collaboration has grown since that initial project. Adunni hinted at another project involving the veteran actor, though she kept details under wraps. “I’ve been featured in another project with him, but I can’t disclose much right now. All I can say is that it’s an incredible experience, and I can’t wait for people to see what we’ve worked on together.”

Adunni’s journey to Nollywood started in 2011 when she moved to Nigeria after spending years abroad. Before making her mark in the Nigerian film industry, she worked as a model in the United States. However, her passion for acting—and the conversation with Ramsey Nouah—drew her back home.

Her first major role came in 2013 when she appeared in the Yoruba-language film You or I. Since then, Adunni Ade has blossomed into one of Nollywood’s most prominent faces, starring in over 250 films across both English and Yoruba languages. She has proven herself to be a versatile actress, seamlessly moving between the two worlds while captivating audiences with her performances.

Reflecting on her decision to move back to Nigeria, Adunni remains grateful for the guidance she received from Nouah. “I don’t think I would have made the move as confidently if it wasn’t for him,” she admitted. “It wasn’t just his words; it was the way he said them. He made me feel like it was possible for me to achieve my dreams here in Nigeria.”

Today, Adunni Ade stands tall as a successful Nollywood actress with a thriving career, but she hasn’t forgotten the man who helped steer her toward this path. Her admiration for Ramsey Nouah isn’t just about his fame; it’s about the impact he’s had on her journey as an actress and as an individual.
