October 16, 2017 – Nollywood Actress Chioma Toplis: How I Survived 3 Bone Reconstruction Surgeries In London UK

I Would Have Died If This Happened To Me In Nigeria – Chioma Toplis Confesses

Months after veteran Nollywood actress Chioma Toplis survived a severe surgery in London, the hardworking actress took to the social media to narrate her miraculous survival story.

Read her testimony below:

“Today 14th Oct is exactly 10 months that the devil struck but God said “my child do not worry for I have got your back” He showed me mercy and his everlasting love. The paramedics arrived at my house within 10mins that they were called on that fine Saturday morning that nearly became a dark Saturday for my household .

They couldn’t believe their eyes, my broken bone was sticking out of my skin. My blood pressure went down to the lowest they found out that I was having internal bleeding, I was turning blue and going cold , was loosing my breath everything was happening all at ones I saw myself literally dying.

It was a battle of life and death yet it was just little they could do at that point unless my blood pressure normalises. They immediately gave me (a laughing gas) to enable them get the my ankle back into the socket to avoid it dying off. Soon after they rushed me off to d hospital while trying to stabilise my blood pressure inside the ambulance.

When we got to the hospital CT scan was done that was when they told me that my accident was major and I broke down in tears. My bone had been shattered into pieces inside and series of bone surgeries needed to be performed and my low blood pressure became an obstacle for d surgery to be done immediately as supposed. God did it again and I was immediately moved in for the emergency reconstructive surgery to get the pieces of bones together. It is a Long story already but to cut it short I don’t know how I survived the three surgeries and still standing today. I spent one month in hospital before I was discharged. People that lives in UK knows that for one to stay up to a week on admission that it must be a very serious case.

Nevertheless my orthopaedic surgeon was right when he said that the way I was progressing fast and responding to treatments with no underlying illness that I’d walk in 10 months time. I calmed it and prayed to God to give me d straight and eyes of a tiger lol..though it seemed so long like 10 years to me then. I started walking few months after my 3rd operation which was 5 months later. Like a miracle one day I woke up and decided to stop wearing my orthopaedic boot.

Got perfect without that, just like that I stopped using one of my crutches and was using only one. After my routine checkup this week ,I have been told by my orthopaedic doctor to gradually stop using the remaining one crutch. Trust me I have started walking without it already. But in case you see me using a crutch still just know that I am trying to beat that nervousness and regain full confidence . It’s a gradual thing,

I know but with me I don’t do gradual lol. I thank God almighty for his kindness and love. Who I be? That God remembers me! I thank my orthopaedic doctors at Queens hospital, my physiotherapists at St Margaret’s hospital and Rectory Road clinic, my GP, all the nurses/district nurses, occupational therapist etc who in one way or the other helped me through these ordeal may God bless you all. As for my husband and children they have been my support system may the good lord continue to shield them for me. My brother and his family, my niece and her husband I thank you , what I have for you is pure love. My friends and my fans I will never forget all your prayers and well wishes, they went a long way , the encouragements they motivated and kept me strong thank you. How can I forget my Haters/frienemies? You guys were the main reason I never gave up. I kept pushing myself harder.

If not you, in whose presence will God prepare my table ? Psalm 23 v 5 Yes I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil for thou are with me. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life Amen.

Thank you NHS, thank you United Kingdom.. I would have been dead if this had happened to me in Nigeria. Yes I said so! #truthbetold# I cannot coman be lying to myself nah.

Heaven helps those who help themselves. I will forever be grateful What don’t kill you makes you stronger . Got to be strong cos I never know who I might be inspiring #everythinghappensforareason#.”

Please people no need to insult this lady. She said the truth. It is not that Nigerian doctors don’t know what they are doing but the fact is the state of our glorified clinics called hospital. After all Nigeria doctors in America and Europe are doing wonders. I can conveniently aver for Nigeria doctors in Ireland and America, how so many of them are performing and even become head of departments. Health service in Nigeria is very poor. Ambulance or emergency service is just there by name; no adequate training for emergency nurses; lack of specialization by doctors; ill equipped hospitals; (imagine Aso rock clinic that get a budget of over 3 billion Naira every year not having syringes and latex gloves?). What happens to the billions budgeted for the clinic? no wonder Buhari had to go to UK to take care of his ear infection. What a shame.

We thank God for her. Hopefully she will not throw a jibe at Oge Okoye. Every time she came out to talk, she would cast aspersions in Oge’s direction, so I was holding my breath as I was reading. We thank God for you.
