Meet Hilda Dokubo, the Queen of Niger Delta who is considered the best sobbing actress in Nollywood.

The darling of film lovers intermittently juggled between being badly beaten by horrors of life and being a rich lady, but for what she’s worth, she was damn good at sobbing.

And yes, she has acted for nearly three decades professionally. Though she re-invents herself in the fast-paced industry, Hilda Dokubo, still has a huge catch-up to do when it comes to spinning the bucks. After some back-and-forth career adventure, as she also returned to do some level of politics in the Niger Delta where she hails from, Dokubo is back in Lagos and had made a grand comeback. But, she’s still not in the league of the high-net-worth actors.

In a recent interview, she spoke about what she does currently, “I run a training centre where I train people in various areas; lifestyle, creative arts, business growth, entrepreneurship and all of that. I am the executive director of the school. The name is Centre for Creative Arts and Business Development.”

Dokubo made her screen debut during her youth service in a 1992 film titled Evil Passion. She has since been featured and has produced several Nigerian films. Upon starring in a supporting role in a 2015 film titled Stigma, Dokubo won Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 11th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
