The Pastor and the founder of the Household of God church, Pastor Chris Okotie has finally spoken up on his failed second marriage to his wife, Stephanie Henshaw.
In a press release today, the Pastor through his spokesman explained why divorcing with his wife is the best option for now.

“The Pastor of our Church, the Household of God, Oregun, Lagos, Rev Chris Okotie announced his separation from Stephanie his wife of four years, at the end last Sunday service.
Both parties arrived at this decision after careful review of the prevailing circumstances which pointed to the fact that it is the best option for them at this time.
They also agreed not to divulge details of this incident for personal reasons.Rev Okotie thanks concerned friends and well-wishers and asked for understanding. He also expressed the hope that their decision would be respected as no further details would be given on this issue.” -Chris Okotie’s spokesman

I pray God to strengthen him. It do happens to people, is not bcs he is a pastor, is a man like every other person. There are situation u met in marriage life, and u wil pray to become single. May God give each and every one a woman or man comparable to him or her.

He has handled issues of married couple for some times, and I know for sure that if it wasn’t him that has to do with this situation he would have advised the person to cheer up and get back to the wife for reconciliation going by the fact that all of them nowadays claims to be involve in the ministry of reconciliation, now, what example is he uploading for his followers???? May God help them both.

What is he teaching couples?is he telling dem dat it is ok to back out of d marriage wen problems come along?marriage is a covenant which is sacred b4 God. U just don’t break it off like dat. God doesn’t break covenants he makes wit us so I feel same theory should b applied to marriage. If this was d 1st time it would have been excused but twice? Common man of God get ur acts together!

With every due respect i don’t think there is any thing to understand here, even for divorcing his first wife and re marrying is already an offence which demands restitution, THE BIBLE SAYS YOU HAVE NO REASON TO DIVORCE YOUR WIFE SAVE FOR ADULTERY which it also made clear that if you divorce her for adultery YOU SHOULD REMAIN SINGLE FOR ANY OTHER MARRIAGE IS EQUALLY ADULTERY i.e SIN( matt 5:31 to 32) is the so called detail issue of this divorce or even the former one relating to ADULTERY? MARRIAGE IS FOR A LIFE TIME, IT IS FOR BETTER FOR WORST, Forget this new ideology of FOR BETTER FOR BETTER. A MAN WHO CAN NOT MAINTAIN PEACE IN HIS HOME, HOW IS HE SHEPHERDING HIS FLOCKS? WHAT IS HE DOING ON PULPIT? he should be advising members who want to take this type of action to STOP but now HE HAS SET THE PACE, WHAT A DISGRACE AND A THING OF MOCKERY TO OUR SO CHERISHED AND RESPECTED CHRISTIANITY! My heart bleeds for this generation’s understanding of Christianity. Where are we going? u divorced d first,the second and u think u are working on Gods directives. One thing i want to adress here even if i didnt make enough sense. Dat u are eloquent,dat u posses extra-ordinary oratory power dosnt mean u are qualify to pastor a church. Some people who claim God called them,merely called themselves.pastor chris, suit urself,use ur tongue to count ur teeth.a pastor in custody of two divorced wives…Godforbid!!! wonders will neva cease to end

Chris, are you sure you are really a man of God? I don’t like this at all!!!! You are not a good example of Jesus Christ which you ‘supposedly’ preach. I am disappointed at you Chris! God hates divorce and you know that. Two times marriage failure, then the problem will surely be from you or there is something hidden or ungodly about you that you don’t want to divulge to your followers. This is quite absurd!

Rev Chris Okotie is a genuine man of God & one of the finest teacher of the bible in this generation. His respect & belief for the body of Christ is unparalleled. Okotie have never be faulted for fornication, adultery, stealing, use of evil powers, misuse of church money and so on. His presidential ambition was devoid of the normal political game but he stood clean & when he did not win, he returned back to church. Okotie challenged NBC for banning miracles from TV.
Having said that, Okotie divorce of his wife is very WRONG. H should be an example to younger christians. I really feel Okotie have a problem of being able to manage his marriage. Those closet to him should HELP him. Okotie really needs help.

These are the end-time signs. The issue is not only about Pastor Chris alone. What about u? I think we all need to check our lives and ask ourselves questions. How do we live our lives? Do we justify certain inadequacies in our lives while we profess Christ? “Let the who thinks he stands take heed lest he falls”Christ’s return is near, pls let us all make necessary amends before IT IS TOO LATE! However, ther is neither any moral/religious justification for what Pastor Chris did.

The truth remains that there was never a marriage contracted in between them. They just dated as normal boyfriend and girlfriend. He is advised to go and reconcile with his first wife if they were truely married. He is one of those that is trying to create “Churchwood” into the Christendom. God will always expose him and his colleagues

Christianity is not conducive to marriage, because JESUS himself was not able to marry.
When Christian ministerial-wannabes try to get married, therefore, IT IS NEVER BECAUSE GOD SENT THEM TO GET MARRIED.
That is why all such ministries are a tedious failure, because they invariably BLASPHEME GOD, saying HE TOLD THEM to get married, when HE DID NOT-thus rendering themselves UNABLE TO DISCERN THE VOICE OF GOD.
