Pastor Michael Balogun of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ejigbo, where a 4-year-old girl was stolen, has been arrested by the police at Ejigbo Division in Lagos State, western Nigeria.
Balogun was arrested along with other members of his church and transferred to Area ‘D’ Police Command in Mushin, Lagos.
We had earlier reported that the victim identified as Tope Ogundeyi was stolen from the church located at Ilufunmi Street, Ejigbo, on 1 September, 2015.
Pastor Balogun and other leaders were in the church when the incident happened.
The baby’s father, Olumide Ogundeyi, told our reporter that he came from Ogun State to the church for deliverance prayers because he was sick and his family was facing many challenges.
He said that after the prayers, they slept inside the church auditorium as directed by the prophet with four of his children and wife.
Ogundeyi said the doors and windows of the church auditorium were locked after their midnight prayers before they slept.
He said by the time he woke up at about 5 a.m., he did not see Tope where she was lying with two other of his children and did not see his three handsets where he kept them.
He said he raised the alarm which attracted other church members and they immediately started searching for Tope but did not find her.
Ogundeyi said that the matter was reported at the Ejigbo Police Division and the Oba of Ejigbo, Oba Moruf Ojoola, was also informed about it.
We confirmed the arrest of Balogun and three other church leaders by the police from both Ejigbo Division and Area ‘D’ Command, Mushin.

I think it high time People should stopped seeking deliverance when there is no need for it. We could all go on our knees and pray to God who created all the so called pastors and if we have faith, he will surely answer our prayers. A lot have been seen and heard in recent times about pastors raping, kidnapping, fraudling members amongst other crimes.
I think we should learn to worship and obey our creator and not pastors. This is a wake up call for all Christians. Not every situation requires spiritual/special prayers from pastors. lots of factors constitutes to economic misfortunes in the society, we should stop attributing every situation to spiritual attack.

Thank you sister Bola for your wonderful advise by admonishing people on how easily they have been falling prey to fake people disguising as men of God. I have said it times without number on this forum that it is advisable to depend on God. If you want to go on fasting you can do this by assigning one for yourself. Having a direct link with your God can have a tremendous change in your life. At times people that you are relying on for prayer are not clean. Their sins can impede acceptance of your prayer because God is angry with them. Bad people have embedded themselves in all religion places in order to deceive and carry out their evil act. Folks, be careful and watch out for the type of place you go for prayer. Do not underestimate what people can do and trust nobody.

To support Bola, there are some situations we need to experience in life. Stop running to these useless so called pastors. Somebody brought you here. That is God. Go to him and wait for His answer.

Another one again, see what Christianity has become, every corner there is a church, anyone can open one just like they open a shop, and claim he has some supernatural powers to bring about change in people’s lives, all is possible because over the years the governments we have have plunder the resources and neglected the populace.i can bet anyone that if and when we have a good government which is truly committed to social justice and accountability we will see a big change in people’s dependency on these charlatans masquerading as men of God.Most of the issues that we term as spiritual is more related to health and financial capability,this why these churches always use the prosperity cliche to woo the masses. it is high time the government look into how these churches are setup, and should be monitored.
