Police AIG for Zone 5 Headquarters, Musa Daura, yesterday announced the arrest of six suspected homosexuals in Benin City.
He said the suspects were arrested by the operatives of the Zonal Anti-Vice Section while acting on a tip-off.
The suspects are Festus Osagiede, male (24); Hyacinth Vincent Omahanrebho, male (20), Itama Omon, male (25); Onwuka Prince, male (48); Monye Samuel Chukwu, a male (23); and Osadebe Kelvin, (26).
According to the police boss, the suspects were apprehended at their hide-out at No. 12 Ikpoba Slope, while Osadebe Kelvin was later picked up somewhere behind Benson Idahosa University on May 11 at about 6.00 hours while trying to escape from Benin City.
He explained that, the suspects have confessed to be homosexuals and have carnal knowledge of each other on several occasions in their hide-out.
He explained that preliminary investigation conducted into the matter, revealed that the suspects have been committing the offence since 2006.
“The leader of the gang and principal suspect, Festus Osagiede first committed the crime with the third suspect, Itama Omon in 2006 when both attended a night club in Benin City.
“After Itama got drunk, Osagiede took him to his house and forcefully had carnal knowledge of him. Since then, they have been committing the crime with each other until May 9, when luck ran out on them, and they were arrested by the zonal detectives”, he said.
Daura who used the opportunity to reiterate that homosexuality is an offence against humanity and nature, and abominable act that should be condemned in every ramification by all, advised parents and guardians to always monitor their wards and children, as to know the kind of friends they keep company with.

To make defences for homosexual is the same as to practice that old perversion, and whatever fate is reserved for those who indulge in it is as well packaged for their sympathizers. All sins are the same means that all sins lead to the same hell, but that does not make all sins equal. Some sins/crimes are termed misdeaminors, whereas others are crass and abominable. Pilfering cannot be looked upon through the same glass as murder. The same thing makes it that lying can never be judged in the same light with sodomy. If the city of Sodom were just a metropolis of liars, I think not that God would have destroyed that ancient civilization.
I advice whoever thinks that standing up for perverts makes him wise or reasonable to do a double-thought about it all. Bestiality is the next in line, and I wonder how comfortable that somebody like Ola would feel when a man with a dog’s snout and fangs sits right next to him in a passenger bus. We should be wise, please!

If festus Osagiede is 24 years and started this act in 2006, he might have 14 years old then and where does a 14 years old visit a night club? there is a little spec of doubt here. i hope these guys were not forcefully obtain confession from.

Ola, I used to attached some relevance to your comments but Im sorry, you just lost a fan with this your open campaign for Gays. I am totally disappoited in you.
This one that the then Goodluck Jonathan‘s Gvt. stood vehemently against this Gay Law yet we still have some people hiddenly practicing it, what would have happen if the Govt. had signed Gay right into Law? Nigeria would have been worse than Sodom perhaps.
We are supposed to appreciate the ban. Its expressly un-African to practice gay.

Ok.. What these boys are doing is wrong and i am totally against homosexuality but i dont think they should be arrested ..
It is not a crime
At the end of the day they are not doing it to us its within themselves and they usually get the repercussions which is either being hiv positive or getting so many uncountable sexually transmitted diseases..
I dont think arresting them is the solution.. It isn’t going to do them any justice ????

I share your opinion to some extent and there are some points you forgot to add to your submission to accentuate it. For instance, a good number of our law makers and the judiciaries are guilty of homosexuality. Which means they have no morale justification to even make laws against homosexuality let alone prosecuting a gay. In other words, they are hypocrites.
But alas, I would like you to read this bible passage, Romans 13:1, it says ” Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, FOR THERE IS NO AUTHORITY EXCEPT THAT WHICH GOD HAS ESTABLISHED…..”
The synopsis of the above passage is that, the earthly government is used by God to maintain order in society . Hence even if some elements in our government are anti-God, they can’t stop him from using them(government) to maintain order in a country like Nigeria for the sake of his good children.
My point is this, homosexuality in my opinion is very serious direct attack against the person of God and what He stands for. Other sins we commit are mainly against ourselves or against another person . Homosexuality is a direct attack against God because, is anti-creation and don’t forget that God is also called our creator. So, these people (gays) allow themselves to used by Satan not only to put a clog in God’s wheel of creation but also to drive humanity to extinction. Creation, either physical or spiritual is the principal source of God’s happiness as far this earth is concerned, and anyone tempering with that is playing with fire.
The insight is this, is not the government that is working against homosexuality but, God working through the government to protect his beloved children from this evil. So, if there is anyone you should be upset with , it should not be with government both with God.
These gays are directly kicking against God’s joy, happiness and the only reason why this earth still spinning and you want Him not to use his servant ( the government) to deal with them? They are even pampered by the government of Nig , if you ask me.

stupid fools and ignorant animals. Nobody has the right to tell anyone who to love or have sex with, especially when the sex is within the confines of consensus. It is a private lifestyle that does not affect the society in any way. Afterall, many of our political leaders are active gays, who perform the act for ritualistic purpose. Why not make law to prohibit masturbation too?? How many bokoharam bombers have been arrested, how many public fund looters have gone to jail?? Stupid nigerian govt is nt aware that many boys resorted to gayizm as a means of survival in the face of the man-made economic hardship, instead of stealing. Create jobs and u will see the act reduced.
